Apostolova disappointed with Kosovo Assembly (Klan Kosova)

Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and Special Representative, Nataliya Apostolova, said she was disappointed with the slowness of Kosovo Assembly’s work being that it held no other session following its constitutive one. In a roundtable organised by the Group for Political and Legal Studies on the implementation of Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), Apostolova said she plans to convey her concerns to the Assembly President, Kadri Veseli.

No decision to open investigation against Minister Rikalo (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo’s chief prosecutor, Aleksander Lumezi, said the prosecutors are currently in the process of collecting information regarding the past activity of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Nenad Rikalo, and have asked to this end assistance from the Council for Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms, the Humanitarian Law Centre, and minister’s former neighbours.

Montenegrin FM: We consider border demarcation issue with Kosovo closed (Klan Kosova)

Montenegro’s Foreign Minister, Srdjan Darmanovic, told the media that his country considers the border demarcation issue with Kosovo to be closed. “Montenegro has resolved this issue. We entered a serious process of demarcation with Kosovo and the signing of the agreement was done in the framework of the Berlin Process as a result of the work of international commissions,” Darmanovic said.

Pacolli to visit Montenegro next week (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, met in New York Montenegro’s Foreign Minister, Srdjan Darmanovic. In a Facebook post, Pacolli said the two diplomats reconfirmed excellent relations between Kosovo and Montenegro and discussed issues of joint interest. “I will set on an official visit to Podgorica next week,” Pacolli wrote.

EULEX commemorates fallen colleague Senavicius of Lithuania (Klan Kosova)

EULEX paid tribute today to Audrius Senavicius, a customs officer from Lithuania, who was killed in the line of duty in the northern part of Kosovo on 19 September 2013. Head of mission, Alexandra Papadopoulou, laid a wreath at the site where Senavicious was shot four years ago.  “Today we pay our respects to his life and his dedicated service. May his memory be eternal.  My thoughts are with his wife and two sons, who to this day still do not have answers to the many questions surrounding his murder,” Papadopoulou said.

Bahtiri hails joint efforts of Albanian and Serb firefighters in putting out fires in Mitrovica region (Klan Kosova)

Mitrovica Mayor, Agim Bahtiri, has commended the efforts of Albanian and Serb firefighters in putting out wildfires that broke out in the region of Mitrovica over the weekend. He said cooperation between Serb and Albanian firefighters should serve as an example of how municipalities can work together and serve their residents, regardless of ethnic background.

Kosovo government approves Interpol membership bid (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo government in today’s meeting approved in principle Interpol membership bid. Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj said all necessary measures were undertaken to secure support for Kosovo’s membership during Interpol’s General Assembly session in September. “Of 190 countries, we need the support of 110 for Kosovo to become member of Interpol.
