Hoxhaj: Political consensus required on major issues (RTK)

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, said in a debate organised by the Pristina Institute for Political Studies that Kosovo needs a national consensus on the border demarcation issue with Montenegro, creation of a Kosovo army, application for EU candidate statue, and finalization of dialogue with Serbia which would end in a mutual recognition and Kosovo’s membership to the UN.

O’Connell: Youth should reconcile in order to avoid repetition of war (Koha)

The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, Ruairi O’Connell valued establishment of the Reconciliation and the Truth Commission, initiative of the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci.

O’Connell said it is very important for youth to understand what has happened and agree not to repeat the war. He offered his support for any need of the commission.

Pacolli: No one can impede Kosovo’s membership at NATO (RTK)

Kosovo’s Principal Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Behgjet Pacolli, said that none of the countries of the region can impede or delay Kosovo’s membership at NATO.

During the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Adriatic Charter (A5) countries in Skopje, Pacolli said that process of Kosovo’s international integration is irreversible.

Haradinaj convinced visit of FYROM PM will deepen bilateral relations (RTK/Klan Kosova)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said in a Facebook post that he was looking forward to the visit of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev, to Kosovo. He said Zaev’s visit is a sign of good will and will contribute to deepening of bilateral relations. “As Prime Minister of the country, I will duly represent the people and the state of Kosovo in building sustainable relations,” Haradinaj wrote. Zaev is expected to visit Kosovo on Tuesday, 12 December.

 Kosovo without UNMIK acronym during CEFTA presiding (RFE)

Next year Kosovo is expected to chair the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA). Kosovo’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, told Radio Free Europe that Kosovo will be presiding only under the name Kosovo, without UNMIK acronym. He added that representatives of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo will not be participating at CEFTA meetings either.

A few weeks ago official Pristina threatened that it would leave CEFTA if presented as UNMIK.

Ambassadors urge Kosovo institutions to fight corruption (RTK)

International officials in Kosovo called on the local institutions to step up fight against corruption and empower the rule of law. FM Pacolli meets U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Mitchell (RTK)

Haradinaj on proceeding demarcation at the Assembly (RTK)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj said today during the meeting of the government of Kosovo that head of the Commission for border demarcation has informed him on Thursday that the commission’s report with its findings is ready.

Albin Kurti and Donika Kadaj handcuffed in front of the judge (RTK)

Vetevendosje MPs, Albin Kurti and Donika Kadaj Bujupi were brought this morning handcuffed at the Basic Court in Pristina. The other two MPs from Vetevendosje Movement, Albulena Haxhiu and Faton Topalli also arrived at the court. Kosovo MPs pleased with functioning of justice in Mitrovica (RTK)

A group of Kosovo MPs and representatives of the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) visited today the basic prosecution in the northern part of Mitrovica as part of efforts to increase transparency of Brussels agreements and to strengthen the supervisory role of the Kosovo Assembly in the implementation of agreements process.
