Haradinaj on arrest of Kosovo MPs (media)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj said that he feels sorry for what happened to the Kosovo Assembly MPs today. However, he added that Vetevendosje MPs should appear in front of the court, whenever called. “Arrest of Kosovo MPs happened today. The truth is  that we objected the agreements that remain a danger for Kosovo. We think that the then rebellion has had positive impact. This was the position of the Alliance then, being that it was political not legal objection.

Ymeri comments arrest of Vetevendosje MPs (RTK)

The leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, Visar Ymeri reacted to the arrest of Vetevendosje MPs. “The three MPs of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi dhe Albin Kurti were arrested in a brutal manner by the Police of the Republic of Kosovo, based on political orders, while they were entering the session. So the three MPs were coming at the session called for today.

LDK leaves Assembly session (RTK)

Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti, said today at the beginning of the Assembly session that his political party will leave the session. “During the meeting of the Assembly Presidency yesterday, the agenda was decided based on the power of vote. There was no consensus, therefore we are leaving the Assembly session,” Hoti said.

Pacolli: You are so small Ivica Dacic (RTK)

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Behgjet Pacolli, took to Facebook to respond harshly to the Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic.

“Dacic’s statement that he will “ruin” Kosovo’s recognitions is a result of his syndrome and the policy that he represents – destructivity, destruction, ruining.

So this is what Dacic represents. We in Kosovo will always be constructive and we will build. Destruction is a characteristic of extremely frustrated ones.

EU Observers: Improvements in voting and counting process required (RTK)

The European Union Election Observation Mission for Kosovo local elections 2017, presented today the report on the election runoff held last Sunday. They assessed that despite some problems, the elections were successful.

Head of the EU Observation Mission, Alojz Peterle, said that EU observers noticed that there were tensions in Gjakova/Djakovic and Mitrovica municipalities. He added that Central Election Commission should see to the procedures that should be followed for these cases.

LDK requests officially recounting of votes in Pristina (RTK)

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has submitted several requests to the Election Complaint and Appeal Panel (ECAP) with regards to the run-off election process in two municipalities.

Head of Election Complaint and Appeal Panel (ECAP) Mul Desku, confirmed that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has expressed dissatisfaction and suggested through appeals to consider the complaints for Pristina and Dragash. “LDK has requested recounting of all ballot stations in Pristina and some ballot stations in Dragash,” he said.

Haradinaj: New chapter of cooperation with the U.S. confirmed (RTK)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj, said today at the Millennium Challenge in Kosovo conference, that a new chapter of cooperation with the United States of America is being confirmed.

Speaking about this foundation, Haradinaj said it is important Kosovo gains aid from the U.S., and pledged to fight corruption and organized crime in order for Kosovo to profit more of this kind of financial aids.

Thaci meets NATO Secretary General (RTK)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, met in Canada with the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

They discussed the security situation in the region. Thaci informed Secretary General Stoltenberg about the campaign initiated by Kosovo institutions to involve the non-majority communities in the Kosovo Security Force. He also said that NATO role on guaranteeing peace in the region is irreplaceable.

Haradinaj-Mogherini press conference gets cancelled (RTK/Koha/RFE)

The media report that a scheduled joint press conference between Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, got cancelled at the last minute. While no official explanation behind the decision was made available, agenda issues are being mentioned as reason.
