A diplomat from a Quint member state told Lajmi on the condition of anonymity that leaders of main parliamentary parties have brought Kosovo on the verge of a political, economic and financial collapse.

The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, will try this week to bring leaders of parliamentary parties at the same table with the aim of finding a solution to the political deadlock. Sources told Lajmi that this will be Jahjaga’s final effort before she announces her final decision next week, which could include new parliamentary elections.

The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, is calling on political leaders to find a solution to the political deadlock without having to go to new elections. “We have entered a difficult period for the country, a deep institutional crisis that is shaking the sustainability of the state of Kosovo and jeopardizing the wellbeing of the people. This situation requires the full commitment of all leaders of parliamentary parties to use cooperation and trust in overcoming the problem. The refusal of President Atifete Jahjaga to address the Constitutional Court asking it to clarify item 127 of its recent ruling on election of Assembly speaker has caused disappointment with the leaders of the post-election coalition made of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA). The Bloc’s candidate for prime minister and leader of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, said he does not agree with Jahjaga’s move not to send the request to the Constitutional Court.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic confirmed arrival at the meeting of the European Group of the Trilateral Commission, which will be held in Belgrade from 31 October to 2 November. On the other side, Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga still didn’t confirm participation, was stated from the Serbian ethnic group of this world organization. Except Jahjaga and Vucic, Ministers of the Government of Serbia, as well as other leaders from the region were invited. The meeting will be held in Belgrade's Hotel "Crown Plaza" according to the principle "behind closed doors".

Arber Vllahiu, advisor to Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga, told Telegrafi that the president is still reviewing the request presented by the minority communities MPs for interpreting item 127 of the Constitutional Court’s decision. “The request is being analysed and assessed and an answer will be provided very soon”, said Vllahiu.

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga has alarmed through her spokesperson, Arber Vllahiu about the current political situation in Kosovo.

Vllahiu said for Gazeta Blic that Kosovo does not have any more time to waste. He said that a solution should be found as soon as possible.

Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), told reporters after the meeting of the coalition bloc with minority communities, that they discussed delays in the formation of new institutions. Haradinaj said minority communities don’t support the option of new parliamentary elections and that he received assurances from communities that they would support the majority.
