Clinton Global Initiative awards Jahjaga for “Leadership in Public Service” (Telegrafi)

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, was awarded with the prize for leadership in public service by the by the Clinton Global Initiative. On the occasion, Jahjaga said that building peace was not easy. “Fifteen years ago, Kosovo was a land covered in rubble. Lives were broken into thousands of pieces. Families were divided. Many forever. The fabric between ethnic communities torn. But out of those ashes, and out of those moments of pain, a determination, a strong will - not despair - emerged.

Cliff: The President needs to take hold of the situation (RTK)

British Ambassador to Kosovo, Ian Cliff, said today after the session of Assembly that Kosovo should not go to extraordinary elections. Cliff told reporters that the international community will not interfere to resolve the crisis because the solution rests in the hands of political parties. Jahjaga: MPs to find a solution to political deadlock (Gazeta Express)

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga today has called on members of the Kosovo Assembly to find a solution to the political deadlock. Jahjaga said the functioning of the Assembly would also help the fight against crime and corruption. “We need to create the new institutions as soon as possible and it is up to members of the Assembly to display readiness for untying the knot and for making way for the adoption of a number of laws that will help the fight against corruption and organized crime,” Jahjaga said at a roundtable organized by the Institute for Justice in Pristina.
