Mustafa and Veseli discuss the ruling coalition (Insajderi)

Kosovo's Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and Assembly President Kadri Veseli, met today to discuss the ruling coalition led by their respective parties, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). The Assembly issued a media communique after the meeting noting that discussions focused on the current developments, with special emphasis on the visa liberalization process.

Veseli: Elections in 2018 (Koha)

Despite constant requests by opposition parties, Kosovo's Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and President Hashim Thaçi have denied the possibility of early parliamentary elections. Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, who was recently elected president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), said today that there will be no early elections. “Elections will be held in 2018” Veseli was quoted saying.

Kosovo PM pledges to secure membership of NATO and EU (Insajderi)

On the 66th anniversary of the European Union, Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said he pledges to secure Kosovo’s membership of the European Union and NATO. In a Facebook post, Mustafa said Kosovo needs to prove it has the will and power to put the law above anyone else. “We need to prove our determination in combating and uprooting corruption and organized crime and to implement standards of democracy,” he said. Mustafa said the coalition government he leads is willing to take the lead in this path.

Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa, in a joint press conference with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and the Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos, said the European Commission’s recommendation for visa liberalization is an important step for Kosovo. Mustafa said that he discussed in the meeting with EU officials the issue of visa liberalization as well as the fight against corruption, economic development, and dialogue with Serbia.

Mogherini to visit Pristina on Thursday (media)

The Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, issued a press release today saying that Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, will visit Pristina on Thursday. Mogherini is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Mustafa. Mogherini and Mustafa are expected to give a joint conference for the media.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, met the European Parliament Member, and Rapporteur for Kosovo, Urlike Lunacek, during his visit to Brussels.

Mustafa together with Kosovo’s Minister for Integration, Bekim Collaku, have begun official meetings with the EU officials. A few moments ago, PM Mustafa ended his meeting with the European Parliament MP, Urlike Lunacek. They discussed EU integration of Kosovo and the process of visa liberalization.

Leaders of Kosovo institutions and foreign diplomats presented today in Gracanica the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund. Small and medium sized businesses are expected to gain an easier access to loans after the establishment of the Credit Guarantee Fund, which enables more favorable loans for them.

The Fund, which is a local, independent and sustainable institution, will issue partial guarantees for loans to the financial institutions, increasing in this manner access for micro and medium sized enterprises.
