Dacic: Serbia can prevent Kosovo from joining UNESCO (RTS, Politika, Blic)

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic believes that Serbia can impede Kosovo's UNESCO membership in November by using diplomatic means and activating as many countries as possible to support its cause.

Dacic said that this topic would not be tabled in the first place, if Resolution 1244 was honoured.

The technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina (Akter)

A new round of technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina will begin in Brussels today.

According to earlier announcements, the topics of discussion should be the community/association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO), energy, telecommunications and traffic on the bridge over the Ibar River in Mitrovica.

Political round of talks with the participation of prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25.

Djuric: One of the topics in Brussels and release of Ivanovic (Blic)

Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric said today that Serbs in Kosovo and throughout Serbia expect leader of the Citizens' Initiative  'Freedom, Democracy, Justice' Oliver Ivanovic to be released on August 26, when his detention sentence is due to expire.

Ivanovic is tried before the Mitrovica Basic Court for the criminal act of war crime against civilians.

Djuric and Serbs from Kosovo today about the formation of the ZSO (TV Most) 

Director of the Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric will talk today in Belgrade on the continuation of the Brussels dialogue and the formation of Community / Association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) with the political representatives of the Serbian community in Kosovo, announced the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo.

Mayors request formation of the ZSO (Blic)

According to the statement signed by the mayors of ten Serbian municipalities in Kosovo, governments in Belgrade and Pristina as well as the Management Team for the establishment of the Community/Association of Serb municipalities (ZSO) are requested to reach the agreement on the establishment of ZSO, during the next meeting in Brussels. As stated, that will enable "full implementation of the Brussels agreement and paved the way for a genuine normalization of relations in Kosovo and Metohija."

Ban Ki-moon: Islamic state threatens Kosovo (Blic)

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in his latest report expressed regret because of the slow pace of Kosovo's institutions in the formation of a Special court for crimes of so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), but also warned that "Islamic state" threatens Kosovo.

The report covers period from 16 April to 15 July this year, and was released at the eve of the UN Security Council session dedicated to Kosovo and Metohija, which will be held on 21 August.

Vucic: UNMIK crucial factor of stability in Kosovo (Blic)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received outgoing UNMIK Chief Farid Zarif on Tuesday, and on that occasion thanked him for the objective and professional work during his term of office.

As the Serbian government's media relations office said in a release, the Serbian prime minister said that the UNMIK's presence and operations are important for Serbia, as a guarantor of the status neutrality of the international presence and the crucial factor of stability in Kosovo.

Serbia's war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic said on Monday that progress has been made in the investigation into the murder of the three Bytyqi brothers.
