Corruption in sale of Serb property (Blic, TV Most, KiM radio,Tanjug)

A special task force, formed as part of the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, has been investigating for 14 months now the corruption allegations concerning the EULEX top tier, reads the Belgrade-based daily Blic on Monday.

According to the daily, one of the contentious cases is related to the sale of the Serb property in KiM.

“The case was led by an American prosecutor who left the mission in protest, because Albanian judges who verified the documents and were involved in corruption were cleared of any responsibility and guilt thanks to EULEX's assistance,” reads Blic.

“If they want to turn me into Julian Asange, that’s what they will get. I believe they think I talked to Koha Ditore, but all that is published in Koha is in the domain of public information,” said Maria Bamieh, EULEX prosecutor, after suspension. She stated that the information she possess, when discovered, will shock the EU. “Yes, it will shock the EU, because the organization (EULEX) wastes the taxpayers' money and is doing nothing for the people of Kosovo,” added suspended prosecutor.

Putin "recognized" Kosovo because of the Crimea (Blic)

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Crimea, part of Ukraine which is annexed to Russia, the same way as Kosovo, held a referendum and adopted the Declaration of Independence.

At a press conference in Moscow, he recalled the right of peoples to self-determination under the UN Charter. He said he is surprised because in the situation with the declaration of independence of Kosovo, "White was called white" and "in a similar situation with the Crimea - black."

Albanian PM wants Serbia "to recognize Kosovo" (B92,Politika,Akter,Blic)

TIRANA -- "The sooner Serbia formally recognizes that Kosovo will never again be its part, the better for Serbia and the region," says Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In an interview for the AP, he added that he "firmly felt and believed" that "they have already recognized it without saying so."

Ethnic Albanians in Kosovo in early 2008 unilaterally declared independence, but Serbia rejected the proclamation as a violation of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Serb house set on fire as a consequence of the football match (Blic)

Minister for Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtic said that a Serb returnee’s house set on fire in village Drsnik, in Klina/Klinë municipality, comes as a consequence of the inflammatory situation which followed the football match between Serbian and Albanian national teams in Euro 2016 qualifier, and added that it is regretful that victims are always those who are the least to be blamed.

Ties with Moscow "won't slow down EU integration" (B92, Blic)

BELGRADE -- The discrepancy between the foreign policies of Serbia and the EU will not slow down the EU integration process and opening of the first chapters.

This is according to Tanja Miščević, head of Serbia's negotiating team in the EU accession talks.

"At this stage of our preparation for the opening of negotiating chapters, it is clear that the condition is to implement everything that has been agreed by the Brussels agreement," Miščević told the Belgrade daily Danas.

Dacic: The project of a Greater Albania is not model for the future (Blic)

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, said that Serbia deserves criticism for the mistakes which occurred in the organization of the football match Serbia-Albania, but Albania deserves the strongest condemnation because of the open and public presenting of the project "Greater Albania."

Reacting to the statement of the Albanian PM, Edi Rama, that "Albania is inspirational model for the future," Dacic said that he is not aware that the project of "Greater Albania" is model for the future of the region.

Serbian flag burnt in Kosovska Mitrovica (Blic, B92)

Unidentified persons burnt the flag of the Republic of Serbia, which was flying on the building of payment operations service in Kosovska Mitrovica, on the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

The incident occurred in one of the main streets in Kosovska Mitrovica, and the burnt flag could be seen on the site early on Thursday.

Unidentified persons tried to remove the flag of the city of Kosovska Mitrovica, put up near the main bridge across the Ibar River, which separates the Serb-majority northern part of the city from the southern part populated by ethnic Albanians.
