UN official learns about planned Kosovo settlement for IDPs (B92)

The concept of the Sunny Valley returnee settlement in Kosovo has been presented a UN special rapporteur.

Chaloka Beyani, in charge of human rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs) learned about the project from Dusan Kozarev, deputy director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo.

Kozarev also told his about "the obstacles to a greater sustainable return of IDPs," Tanjug reported on Monday.

New round of Belgrade-Pristina technical dialogue opens (B92)

A new round of the EU-facilitated technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina began in EU's External Action Service headquarters in Brussels Wednesday.
Sources close to Belgrade's delegation told Tanjug the topic of the opening day of the three-day discussions would be the implementation of an agreement on free movement - more specifically, the issue of registration plates for vehicles from Kosovo's territory.

Pope Francis "to visit Belgrade and Pristina" – report (B92)

Pope Francis "should visit Belgrade and Pristina within the next year," the Belgrade-based Danas daily reported on Wednesday.

The paper was quoting "unofficial Western diplomatic sources" when reporting this, Tanjug said.

According to the report, the sources said Pope Francis had been invited by Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic to pay a first official visit to Belgrade and was willing to do so, and the Serbian Orthodox Church is not against the invitation either.

"Montenegro and Kosovo in dispute over Serbian territory" (B92, Sputnik)

Montenegro has unfortunately recognized Kosovo as independent, and now Podgorica and Pristina are in dispute over a piece of territory that belongs to neither.

This is what Milovan Drecun (SNS), chairman of the Serbian Assembly's Committee on Kosovo and Metohija, has told Sputnik.

Instead this territory - the subject of a contentious demarcation agreement - belongs to the Republic of Serbia, Drecun said.

Staro Gracko: Memorial plaque to Serb victims desecrated (RTK2, KIM radio, B92)

Unknown persons overnight desecrated and damaged a memorial plaque dedicated to Serb victims from the village of Staro Gracko in Kosovo.

The names of 14 Serb farmers gunned down while harvesting their fields in July 1999 were inscribed on the plaque, as well as those of the victims of NATO's aggression that took place earlier the same year.

The memorial was placed at the elementary school in the centre of the village.
