Kosovo needs a new beginning (EurActiv)

Kosovo Assembly President and leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Kadri Veseli, writes in an op-ed ahead of the Western Balkans Six summit set to take place in July that in Kosovo too much time has been spent on the border demarcation with Montenegro and the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities which, although agreed upon, are facing disapproval from the opposition parties and part of the ruling coalition.

Veseli hints at early elections by June (Lajmi)

Kosovo Assembly President and leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Kadri Veseli, is quoted as saying at a meeting with party membership in Drenas/Glogovac that early elections are a viable option if the border demarcation agreement is not ratified. According to sources present at the meeting, Veseli said early elections could take place during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan which this year begins end of May.

Vetevendosje requests special Assembly session for its activist Astrit Dehari (Koha)

Vetevendosje Movement collected signatures from MPs for a special session of the Assembly to discuss the death of its activist, Astrit Dehari, at the Prizren detention facility. However, the request failed as, according to Vetevendosje, one of the MPs was pressured into removing his signature. In sign of protest, Vetevendosje and the other opposition parties, walked out of the meeting of the Assembly Presidency which was supposed to decide the timing of the next session.

Kostić and Veseli on capital projects (KIM radio)

President of the Assembly Kadri Veseli, met yesterday with the Mayor of Gračanica/Graçanicë, Vladeta Kostić, with whom he discussed strengthening of cooperation and development of the community through the capital projects.

As announced by the Kosovo Assembly, Veseli offered the Mayor of Gračanica/Graçanicë a full support for the continuation of capital projects for the benefit of local economic development and the interest of all communities living in the municipality.

Janjić: It is important to prepare indictments well (Vesti)

Dusan Janjić, Director of the Forum for Ethnic Relations, says that it is important to prepare well indictments.

- It is about the prosecutor who is familiar with the region and the work. For the situation in Kosovo and among the Albanians, it is very important that this is a citizen of USA. Objectively, trials awaits new budget, March of 2017. I assume that this is the period in which the prosecutor will decide whether to start with small or larger cases, and will he tie several cases - Janjić told Vesti.

O’Conell: State cannot be built through nepotism (Klan Kosova)

After signing Memorandum of Cooperation with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa and the Assembly President, Kadri Veseli,  the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, Ruairi O’Conell,

said that  the state cannot be built or function through nepotism. O’Conell made this comment speaking about Adem Grabovci’s tapping made public recently.
