Heldt: Serb municipalities Association should establish in a natural manner (RTK)

The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Christian Heldt, said that Kosovo has to establish the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, that would enable integration of the Serb community. On the other hand, he added, Serbia should implement the agreements reached with Kosovo during the dialogue mediated by the EU.

Creation of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities is part of the agreement for the improvement of the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, signed in April 2013.

Creation of the Association of the Serb-majority Municipalities continues to be the major request of Kosovo Serbs. Furthermore, they consider that the Association should be created within a very short period.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Dalibor Jevtic, stated on Monday that there are no more justifications for delays. He said that now is the time to create the Association as agreed by the parties in Brussels.

Srpska Lista, condemned in strongest terms late on Friday the statement of the EU Representative in Kosovo, Nataliya Aposotlova, who said “that the Association of the Serb Municipalities would be established in line with the Constitutional Court from Pristina decision,” and added that Srpka Lista will never accept the establishment of the Association if not in line with what was signed in Brussels, Serbian media reported.

Former President of Serbia, Boris Tadic commenting on Aleksandar Vucic call for a nationwide dialogue on Kosovo issues, stated to Blic that he has presented his plan five years ago and it contained four topics.

After signing the Brussels agreement this plan is no longer implementable, so some solutions that were possible then are not possible now as it is too late.

Marko Djuric, Director of the Office for Kosovo at the Serbian Government, said that Brussels is losing authority over Pristina.

Djuric expressed fear that elections in Kosovo would not only mean waste of time for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, but they also represent continuance of the political radicalization.
