AAK speaks about blocking Assembly Commissions, NISMA about boycott (Gazeta Express)

Except for blocking of the work of the Assembly of Kosovo, opposition parties claim that they will also obstruct work of the Parliamentary Commissions.  The five Assembly Commissions planned to adjourn today at 10:00 hours to endorse the draft laws proposed by the government, will be boycotted by the three position parties, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and Vetevendosje Movement.

Person arrested in connection to assassination plot against Mimoza Kusari-Lila (Zeri/Express)

Kosovo Police confirmed the arrest of a person in connection to the assassination plot against Gjakova/Djakovica Mayor Mimoza Kusari-Lila has been arrested. According to Gazeta Express, the person arrested works in one of the Gjakova/Djakovica municipality branch offices in the village of Bishtazhin and is a member of the Kosovo Albanian Demo Christian Party.

In an editorial for Gazeta Express, former MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and journalist, Berat Buzhala, claims not to be speaking for all the people in Kosovo but a certain number of them do believe that the situation in Kosovo is critical. The government is indeed responsible for the current situation, observes Buzhala, but at the same time the opposition is responsible why this situation is not resolving.  “It is precisely this opposition, the egg opposition, that made this government look serious,” he writes.

Opposition parties want early elections (Gazeta Express/TV Dukagjini)

The Vetevendosje Movement, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) have reached a principle agreement on a joint election list and have agreed to block the institutional life until Kosovo goes to early parliamentary elections. Unnamed sources told TV Dukagjini that the opposition wants elections to be held in late October or early November. The same sources said that the agreement led to the AAK and NISMA joining the Vetevendosje action of throwing eggs at Prime Minister Mustafa at the Assembly today.

Ramush Haradinaj, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), said the attack on Prime Minister Isa Mustafa at the assembly session today was an expected reaction from the MPs. “The throwing of eggs was both right and necessary,” Haradinaj said.
