Foreign Minister and First Deputy PM Ivica Dacic says no armed formations of Albanians can enter northern Kosovo without the consent of KFOR.
Dacic added, speaking on Monday, that this agreement that had been reached with NATO should be translated into a directive that everyone in the field should respect - "in order to avoid a situation that would trigger major problems in Kosovo and Metohija."
KFOR spokesperson Vincenzo Grasso says special units Rosu can enter the north of Kosovo without the permission of KFOR.
In an interview with the newspaper, Grasso said that "the special operations unit, which can be armed with long rifles" belongs to the Kosovo police and as such has the mandate to enforce the law throughout Kosovo "without the obligation to seek approval."
Politika reports, citing Pristina's Gazeta Express, that KBS allegedly conducted a search of the house owned by Milan Radojcic and added that Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha refused to confirm this.
Daily says that the search was carried out on the orders of the prosecution, and within the action in which four Serbs were arrested this morning, three in connection with the murder of Oliver Ivanovic in January this year, and one for interfering with the investigation - according to the Kosovo police.
Abbott of Visoki Decani Monastery, Father Sava Janjic said that the arrest of four Serbs in the north of Kosovo has no connection with the investigation of Oliver Ivanovic’s murder, BETA news agency reported.
Serbian List Deputy Chair, Dalibor Jevtic called for peace and restraint.
Speaking for RTS morning program Jevtic said the aim of the Serbs is not conflict but a stable situation.
Jevtic stressed that those who gave the order and killers of Oliver Ivanovic should be found, but it is “an interesting moment” that ROSU units have chosen to carry out the action.
Jevtic reminded that taxes on goods from central Serbia are increased by 100 percent, and that Serbs announced peaceful protest over that measure.
Vincenzo Grasso, KFOR spokesman, told TV Prva that KFOR was informed that four people were arrested in Kosovo, but that there is no accurate information about where they are.
"The Kosovo police arrested several people in connection with the murder of Oliver Ivanovic. We were informed that four people were arrested and I'm not sure where they are right now, but I'm sure that they are in the police and would be brought to the justice," Grasso told TV Prva.
Intrusion and arrests that Kosovo police ROSU members carried out this morning in Mitrovca North is a dangerous move, that deteriorates the situation, Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS.
He added, this could be an indicator of new possible violent actions of Pristina in the north of Kosovo. “This is a dangerous, unilateral act by Pristina, that deteriorates the situation and raises tensions,” Drecun said.
An unscheduled closed session of the Serbian Government was held in Belgrade on Friday morning due to the incursion of a Kosovo police unit into the north of Kosovo, reports Serbian media.
President Aleksandar Vucic has had extraordinary meetings with the army and police chiefs this morning. Other security services, as well as commanders of special military and police units, also took part in these meetings.
Nebojsa Covic, former head of the Coordination Centre for Kosovo and Metohija told Prva TV, Kosovo Albanians would not be able to carry out police action this morning, if they had no support from the outside. “Nothing happens without knowledge of Washington,” Covic said.
“That is the pattern. You create new problems, and everything else is pushed aside. Who still remembers the “Yellow House” case, the Brussels agreement, Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, Special Court for KLA war crimes?” Covic asked.
Mayor of Mitrovica North, Goran Rakic told Prva TV three persons were arrested in this town early this morning, including Kosovo police officer and two citizens. All of them are Serbs. Rakic also added, arrested persons were brutally beaten up.
According to Rakic, the excuse used for action was that the arrests are made in relation to Oliver Ivanovic’s murder, however Rakic doubts this version and believes it is about diverting attention from yesterday’s events.
