Rasic: Serbs were not invited to any meetings on demarcation (Klan Kosova)

The Serbian List MP, Nenad Rasic, said on Thursday that Serb MPs were not invited to any meetings regarding the border demarcation deal with Montenegro, and therefore they didn’t participate in the Assembly session. “This is a normal reaction because Serb representatives were not invited to any official meeting that was related to the demarcation deal,” Rasic said. He denied that there were conditions imposed by the Serbian List in exchange for participating in the session. “Until this moment, I can say that there were no conditions.

Vetevendosje: Weapons seized not related to recent explosions (media)

Vetevendosje leader, Visar Ymeri, told a press conference in Pristina today that the Vetevendosje activists, who were arrested by police today over their alleged participation in a bomb attack on the Kosovo Assembly on August 4, are innocent and that the weapons seized during the raids today have nothing to do with the bomb attack. Deda: I will not vote in favor of demarcation agreement on September 1 (media)

Ilir Deda, an independent member of the Kosovo Assembly, told Klan Kosova today that he will not vote in favor of the demarcation agreement with Montenegro when the Kosovo Assembly will meet on September 1. The TV station recalls that in an earlier statement, Deda said that the European Union was not right to condition visa liberalisation for the people of Kosovo with the ratification of the border agreement.

Thaçi confident Assembly will ratify demarcation deal on September 1 (media)

Kosovo President, Hashim Thaçi, said today that he is confident that the Assembly of Kosovo will ratify the demarcation agreement with Montenegro on September 1. Thaçi said the border deal must be ratified so that Kosovo can move forward with its integration processes, "such as the implementation of its international agenda, visa liberalisation for the citizens of Kosovo and the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into the Kosovo Armed Forces".

In an interview for Tirana-based Shekulli newspaper, Vetëvendosje leader Visar Ymeri said the opposition and his party are determined to reject the border-demarcation deal with Montenegro, “because Kosovo will lose over 8,200 hectares”. Vetëvendosje movement’s Secretary for media and communication, Frashër Krasniqi, spoke for Klan Kosova about the statements of the U.S. Vice-President, Joe Biden, made at the press conference after his meeting with the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi. “We followed the press conference, it is interesting that Thaçi insisted more on demarcation and Association,” Krasniqi said.

The court to decide on Azem Syla today (Klan Kosova)

The lawyer of the former Assembly MP, Azem Syla, Tomë Gashi, announced that the Basic Court in Pristina will decide today on whether to release or to extend Syla’s detention for additional three months. Gashi informed that the initial four month detention is over, and the Court will hold a special session to decide on the request of the EULEX prosecutor to extend Syla’s and the other suspects’ detention for additional three months.

O’Conell: State cannot be built through nepotism (Klan Kosova)

After signing Memorandum of Cooperation with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa and the Assembly President, Kadri Veseli,  the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, Ruairi O’Conell,

said that  the state cannot be built or function through nepotism. O’Conell made this comment speaking about Adem Grabovci’s tapping made public recently.

PDK condemns attack on Kosovo Assembly (Klan Kosova)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) strongly condemned the attack on the Kosovo Assembly on Thursday night, considering it as an organized criminal act against the values of the highest legislative institution of Kosovo. “This criminal attack against the Kosovo Assembly is an attack on the achievements of the state and its citizens. The PDK considers that this criminal act is done at a time when debates on issues of national interest are new achievements in our country.
