Fatherland Movement: Vucic would propose two Germany model as solution for Kosovo status (Kontakt plus radio)

Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, would propose to citizens two Germany model as a solution for the Kosovo status, Fatherland Movement said today referring to “reliable sources,” Kontakt plus radio reported.

Its press statement further reads, that within this model, Serbia should sign with Kosovo a peace treaty, exchange diplomatic representatives and do not obstacle Kosovo to become a UN member.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has emphasized that, in regard to Kosovo, he wants to start on a new path.

Although the Serbs are not ready for that, he will not ease up, he said.

"It's easy to say, go and fight for Kosovo. However that always led us to war. I want to start a new path, for Serbia. I want to openly and fairly discuss the solution of the Kosovo conflict," Vucic said in an interview for the Swiss daily Blick.

Tadic also reminded that a mere word “dialogue” means showing respect for different opinions, assessing Vucic “is a wrong man to put Kosovo topic forward, since he has no critical attitude toward himself.

In an open letter to Serbian President Vučić, which was published on 25 July in Nova srpska politicka misao magazine, Marko Jakšić, former prominent member of Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and the leading member of “Fatherland” (Otadzbina) movement said that the reason for this letter is Vučić’s “intention to finally solve the status of Kosovo and Metohija”.

Revisiting on Tuesday his idea about launching an "internal dialogue" about Kosovo, the Serbian president said it would be extremely important - "because afterwards, we will be much more objective and responsible in terms of Kosovo and Metohija, whether or not there is an agreement."

Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej, commenting the invitation of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on internal dialogue on Kosovo, stated that Kosovo must not be alienated nor bestowed.

“We appeal to our statesmen they must never give consent to the alienation of Kosovo, because what was taken by force, can be returned, but what is bestowed to someone, it is lost forever, and Serbs and Serbia must not allow that to happen,” stated Patriarch Irinej to RTS.
