Selimi: People have many reasons to protest (Indeksonline)

Vetevendosje MP Rexhep Selimi said today that they have called for a peaceful protest against statements by Communities and Returns Minister Aleksandar Jablanovic and the Trepca issue. “Our goal is to have a peaceful protest,” Selimi told the news site. “This government is giving the people many reasons to protest. This is neither the first nor the last protest. I don’t know if there will be more or less protesters than on Saturday.”

Thaci starts his visit to Montenegro (all media)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hashim Thaci started his first official visit to Montenegro, where he met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Igor Luksic. Thaci and Luksic discussed the cooperation between Kosovo and Montenegro, economic and cultural exchange, joint infrastructural projects as well as regional cooperation and building of good neighborly relations. Media report that during his stay in Podgorica, Thaci will meet the Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, President Filip Vujanovic and Speaker of the Parliament, Ranko Krivokapic.

Limaj: Mustafa destroyed hopes of Kosovo people (Indeksonline)

Fatmir Limaj, the leader of Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) told Rrokum TV that Mustafa government is just a continuation of the previous government of Kosovo. According to him, the large number of deputy ministers that are expected to be appointed, is an abuse of Kosovo budget, because “no minister needs more than one deputy.” Limaj said that the coalition bloc offered hope for Kosovo people, but it was destroyed by Isa Mustafa, who according to him, betrayed the opposition leaders.

Security concerns for Thaci's visit to Montenegro (Indeksonline, Telegrafi)

Indeksonline sources confirmed that Montenegro’s intelligence services and security forces have been put on alert for the upcoming visit of Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci. Security intelligence agencies are reported to be concerned that Thaci may be the target of an assassination attempt by Serb nationalists.

Haziri sees Vucic’s visit to Kosovo as a pilgrimage (Indeksonline)

Lutfi Haziri, deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo. Sees the visit of Serbia’s Prime Minister in Kosovo together with the other ministers for Orthodox holidays, as a pilgrimage. “Kosovo cannot be endangered by Serbia,” said Haziri, who is also mayor of Gjilan, a municipality where Serbia’s PM Aleksandar Vicic will start his visit in Kosovo, at Pasjan village, in order to attend inauguration of the maternity hospital.

Zbogar to Mustafa: Next four years, challenging for Kosovo (indeksonline)

Vetevendosje MP, Ilir Deda, considers that Kosovo will not remain at the same level this year in its European integration process. According to Deda, Kosovo has no government committed in implementing EU priorities in the fight against organized crime and corruption. “Kosovo still has problems regarding contractual relations with the EU because of Kosovo’s non-recognition as a country by the EU which is evident in the SAA (Stabilisation and Association Agreement) draft agreement”, said Deda. Collaku donates computers for children from RAE communities (Indeksonline)

Minister for European Integration, Bekim Collaku visited today the Center for Cooperation and Integration "Fidan Lahu" in Fushe Kosove / Kosovo Polje, where he spent a few moments with children from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian (RAE) communities. Collaku donated computers and various computer equipment for the children of these communities. "The Ministry for European Integration is strongly committed to improving the living conditions of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians, and their full integration into society,” said Collaku.

University of Pristina to decide on demands of the war veterans (Indeksonline)

Kosovo Minister of Education, Arsim Bajrami said today that Kosovo Government will respect the autonomy of University of Pristina (UP) to find a solution for the demand of the former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) war veterans for automatic admission of 1000 students who are children of war veterans. Bajrami said that he will meet with representatives of both parties, and urges them to find a solution as soon as possible, in conformity with applicable laws and agreements.

Women from Pristina and Belgrade call for dialogue and cooperation (Indeksonline)

Fourteen women representing parliaments, academia, civil society and media from Belgrade and Pristina gathered for the first time in Belgrade on 15 and 16 December 2014 as part of the so-called “Budva Process” aimed at enabling these women to engage in a direct dialogue.  Citing a press release issued by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Indeksonline writes that the participants discussed the role of women in politics and the issue of economic empowerment.
