Vetëvendosje leader Visar Ymeri  has compared Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, Assembly President Kadri Veseli, and President Hashim Thaçi to the pigs from George Orwell’s Animal Farm accusing them of violating democracy in Kosovo. Ymeri said Vetëvendosje will spare no means to oppose the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro from being ratified.

Kosovo Police escorted leader of the Vetevendosje movement Visar Ymeri, to court, for the session on the case of fighting with the MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bekim Haxhiu.

Visar Ymeri, MP Rexhep Selimi, former MP Florin Krasniqi and driver, Besart Bujupi, are accused to have physically attacked Bekim Haxhiu known as Kamishi in 2012, in front of the Kosovo Assembly facilities.

Vetevendosje leader Visar Ymeri was arrested this morning by police in his flat in Pristina. In a press release, Vetevendosje said Ymeri was taken by force to a court hearing. “The arrest of the leader of the largest opposition party comes after hundreds of arrests of the Movement’s activists and MPs in the last six months. The reasons behind these persecutions are entirely political,” the press release reads.

The leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, Visar Ymeri, in an interview with Voice of America said the election process for the new president of Kosovo was filled with interference and blackmail against the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MPs. He also said the opposition does not accept Hashim Thaci as Kosovo president. "The way the president was elected is absolutely unacceptable.

Visar Ymeri, leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, writes on his Facebook account that the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader “Hashim Thaci cannot become President of Kosovo without meeting the demands of the Serbian List, a political entity created in Belgrade and which does not represent Kosovo Serbs, but only Belgrade and Vucic”. “The Serbian List has started threatening Hashim Thaci to get the most out of him. Thaci wants power so much that he is willing to promise and give everything to Serbia just so he can become President of Kosovo.

Vetevendosje leader Visar Ymeri said today that the opposition MPs have decided not to take part in the Kosovo Assembly session today. “We decided not to participate in today's session and prepare for the next session. But, if the Assembly decides today on the election of the president, the purpose of our protest will change,” Ymeri said. Today’s session is a continuation of Friday’s session which was interrupted three times by the opposition MPs throwing teargas in the hall.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic says that the request of the President of the Self-Determination movement to declare the Serbian List as illegal only shows that the Serbs are always the target of bullies. Stojanovic also says that Ymeri made this statement backed by anger and not by arguments.

The three leaders of the opposition bloc, Vetevendosje’s Visar Ymeri, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) leader Fatmir Limaj told reporters in Pristina today that starting at 14:00 the opposition will begin its non-stop protest against the government. Ymeri said: “Today we are starting our non-stop protest against this anti-constitutional regime. The protest will go on until the downfall of this government”.

All media report that several opposition MPs were escorted by security outside the Kosovo Assembly building. Media quote Assembly President Kadri Veseli saying that 18 opposition MPs were suspended from Friday’s session after incidents involving teargas canisters. Vetevendosje leader Visar Ymeri later told reporters that MPs were forcefully escorted outside the building without a document or decision by the Assembly to support this action. “Someone made this arbitrary call. This government has lost its legitimacy,” Ymeri was quoted saying.

The leader of the Vetevendosje movement, Visar Ymeri, said today at a press conference that Isa Mustafa and Hashim Thaci threatened citizens who participated at the protest. “These threats and insults are unacceptable and punishable,” said Ymeri and added that Thaci should give account for his statements made on Wednesday after the protest.
