Kuçi appointed Deputy Prime Minister, Hoxhaj Foreign Minister (Koha)

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, today appointed Hajredin Kuçi in the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Enver Hoxhaj as the new Foreign Minister. Kuçi will also hold the Justice Minister post for the time being. During a joint press conference with the PDK leader Kadri Veseli, Mustafa said the changes made today will contribute to government’s efficiency and its goals.

Mustafa: War veterans’ figure exceeds estimates (Telegrafi)

The Kosovo government reviewed today the report of the commission for recognition and verification of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) veterans. Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Arban Abrashi, said the commission has completed the verification process and concluded that there are 46,230 war veterans. Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said this figure exceeds all estimates of budgetary sustainability.  He said that while the government acknowledges the commission’s report, certain issues are yet to be regulated.

Mustafa: Kosovo is important in the fight against ISIS (Kosovapres)

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, during the Interfaith Dialogue conference in Pristina on Wednesday, said that Kosovo is very important in the fight against ISIS. “Kosovo has taken legal action against individuals and extremist groups,” Mustafa said, adding that not only the police and judiciary, but everyone must be engaged to stop extremism. Mustafa also talked about the role of women in society. "I think the role of women in society is important for the promotion of social progress. We are working to strengthen women’s position in society,” he said.

Mustafa: We welcome EU help on the war against corruption (Gazeta Express)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said today that the European Union is welcomed to help Kosovo on the war against economic crime. “Kosovo has made significant steps in the war against corruption, terrorism and other phenomena,” Mustafa said. He made this statement at the launching of the joint project of the Office of the European Union and the Council of Europe against the economic crime in Kosovo.

During the meeting, Mustafa expressed the full commitment of the government to shed light on the fate of missing persons and support for families. Mustafa spoke about the efforts of the government and talks with international representatives at all levels, to put pressure on Serbia to resolve the fate of missing persons during the 1999 conflict in Kosovo.

Thaçi: Commission for Association, opposition does not welcome it (RTKlive)

The proposal of the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, to create a special commission for the Association/Community of the Serbian-majority Communities, was not welcomed by the three opposition parties. According to them, the proposal is not serious and it is a joke on Kosovo politics.

Hahn: Conclusion of demarcation with Montenegro in interest of both countries (Telegrafi)

The European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, met today in Pristina with Kosovo's Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa. Hahn stated in a press conference after the meeting, that it was in the best interests of Kosovo and Montenegro to conclude the border demarcation process. “It is in the interest of both countries to resolve this matter and move forward with the European perspective. Your ultimate goal should be to join the European Union,” he said. Prime Minister Mustafa said that Kosovo has no dispute with Montenegro.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, hosted today a meeting with the European Parliament delegation, which will participate at the meeting of the EU-Kosovo Parliamentary Commission for the Stabilization Association Agreement (SAA). A press release issued by the Office of the Prime Minister informs that the EU delegation lead by Tonino Picula, is comprised of Ulrike Lunacek, Dubravka Suica, Tanja Fajon, Jozo Rados, Georgios Kyrtsos and Julie Ward.

Mustafa: We must ratify the border demarcation agreement (Kosovapress)

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, said today that the fight against corruption and ratification of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro, are two conditions that Kosovo needs to meet in order to get visa liberalization. “I want to thank the Assembly because we have stepped up certain processes to meet the criteria. The European Commission made a historic decision. There are two more conditions that we need to meet. We must ratify the border agreement with Montenegro.

Mustafa commends municipalities for their work on implementing visa liberalization criteria (Zeri)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, praised the municipalities in doing a good job on meeting the visa liberalization criteria. Speaking about the local governance for the next ten years, Mustafa said that the overriding objective will be to bring it closer to the people. Mustafa also said that the government is trying to implement a more advanced system of local government whose results can be expected during the ten-year period. Mustafa made the comments at a conference on the local government strategic orientations 2016-2026.
