Haradinaj: Nothing has been decided yet regarding joint list (Telegrafi)

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, told the news site the opposition is discussing the possibility of going to parliamentary elections with a joint list, but added that the AAK is also preparing to enter elections alone. Haradinaj stressed that the protest scheduled for 26 March which was later canceled, should be held, because it was the will of the citizens. "Soon we will invite citizens for the next protest,” he said. According to Haradinaj, boycotting the Assembly was another form of opposing the government.

The government of Kosovo issued a press release saying that today’s planned opposition protest in Vushtrri against the creation of the Serb-majority municipality of Prilluzhe is based on an untrue cause. The Government insisted it never discussed the creation of such a municipality with anyone and accused the opposition parties of “fabricating causes for political gains” in an attempt to polarize the society and destabilize Kosovo.

The paper’s front-page editorial today notes that the opposition parties cannot win the sympathy of the citizens only by releasing teargas and opposing the agreements with Serbia. “A sustainable alternative is one that represents seriousness, commitment and results. If the opposition manages to renew itself with capable, brave and determined people, only then will it be able to overturn the current government.

Limaj: Tear gas was effective but we are looking at alternatives (Koha)

Leader of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and MP Fatmir Limaj said the opposition’s use of tear gas had its effect in the Assembly sessions and that despite their differences, opposition parties remain united in their actions against the government. “This regime continues to be the same. Its behavior is causing the deepening of the crisis,” said Limaj. He added that the opposition parties need to take into consideration the option of boycotting the Assembly. “We are looking at alternatives,” said Limaj.

Opposition: We will not stop (Koha)

The Kosovo Assembly session was interrupted today by the opposition MPs who released teargas as a sign of protest against recent agreements with Serbia and Montenegro. The Vetevendosje movement MP, Rexhep Selimi, said the teargas in the Assembly today showed that the opposition is still united. He said the opposition will not stop until achieving its goals. “The opposition is continuing its protest within the Assembly. We will not stop. We will continue further in the same way with the same methods and above all, with the same goal,” Selimi said.

Ambassador of Norway in Kosovo, Jan Braathu was a guest of the Free Serbian (Slobodno Srpski) where he said that in this situation all are losers, because Kosovo’s reputation was damaged.

"The efforts that have been made in the last 8 years, to try to build the image of Kosovo, which was more positive, I would say realistically positive, is very much damaged," said Braathu, when he was asked about violence in recent months.
