Serbia and Russia "cooperating successfully in all areas" (B92, Tanjug)

Serbia-Russia relations are developing successfully in all areas, Russian FM Sergei Lavrov and his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic agreed on Friday.

Russia is "one of Serbia's most important strategic partners and Belgrade is thankful to Moscow for its support in international organisations on the issue of Kosovo," TASS quoted Dacic as saying before his meeting with Lavrov in Moscow.

PM Vucic to visit Kosovo on April 3 (B92, Politika, Tanjug, Blic)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will visit Kosovo on Sunday, April 3.

Head of the Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric made the announcement on Wednesday.

"This is big and important news for all citizens, particularly for those in Kosovo and Metohija. The prime minister will visit Kosovo and Metohija on Sunday, April 3, to meet with Trepca miners and visit Zubin Potok and Kosovska Mitrovica," Djuric told state broadcaster RTS.

Serbia marks anniversary of start of NATO bombing (Dailies)

17 years ago today NATO forces began their air campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SRJ), at the time consisting of Serbia and Montenegro.

The bombing, which lasted 78 days, severely damaged infrastructure, commercial buildings, schools, health institutions, media houses and cultural monuments.

The attacks on Serbia started and were carried out without the approval of the UN Security Council, which was a precedent.

Serbia "ready to join in relentless fight against terror" (B92)

Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic says his country is ready to join Germany and other European countries in a relentless fight against terrorism.

"I wish to express my deepest condolences to the families of victims of the terrorist attacks in Brussels, and to make clear that we are prepared to join Germany and other European states in a relentless fight against terrorism," Stefanovic said on Tuesday.

Technical Kosovo talks canceled after Brussels incidents (Dailies)

The Director of the Serbian Government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija said the decision was made after a series of attacks that shook the city today, claiming the lives of nearly 30 people.

"We are here in Brussels with the people, we are sharing these difficult moments. Extremism knows no borders and Europe must be united in the fight against evil," he said.

NATO, Kosovo recognition not a condition for joining the EU (Dailies)

German Ambassador Axel Dittmann says his country will support opening chapters 23 and 24, on judiciary and rule of law, in the first half of this year.

In an interview for Vecernje Novosti, Dittman said that NATO membership was not a prerequisite for joining the EU, and the same applies for recognition of Kosovo's independence.

Djuric: Serbs in Kosovo are on their land (B92)

Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric visited the Serbian villages and families in the municipality of Lipljan, in central Kosovo. On this occasion he said that the Serbs in Kosovo did not achieve their collective rights, adding that the state of Serbia will help them in it, to the maximum.  In Gusterica village, Djuric said that Serbs in Kosovo are not and will not be a simple passive citizens, but free people who are living on their own land.

Recognition of Kosovo - "separatists' unfulfilled dream" (B92)

Serbia recognizing Kosovo "will remain the unfulfilled dream of Pristina separatists," Marko Djuric has said.

Reacting to statements by provincial officials, including the newly-elected President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, the Director of the Serbian Government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija said that "Belgrade and Serbia want to have truly good and stable relations with Pristina and all Albanians in the region."

"Millions set aside for Kosovo vanished from records" (B92, Insajder.net)

Based on official documents collected over the past year, several million euros "vanished from official records of two ministries over a 2-year period."

This is what the newly launched investigative journalism website insajder.net is reporting, adding its journalists submitted a request to 15 ministries under the law on free access to information of public importance, asking each to state the amount of money they set aside for Kosovo in the past four years.
