Dacic “advises” Kosovo not to apply for UNESCO (Koha)

Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, “advises” Kosovo not to apply for UNESCO membership.

“The best thing would have been if Kosovo did not apply for membership at the UN Organization for Education, Science and Culture,” Dacic said to his Italian counterpart, Angelino Alfano, who is visiting Belgrade.

Dacic also is quoted as saying that UNESCO should not be politicized. “There is a syndrome of minor differences and major conflicts in Balkans,” Dacic said.

U.S. favors dialogue, lowering of tensions and direct communication (Klan Kosova)

The United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Asia, Brian Hoyt Yee, said that the United States of America fully support dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, the lowering of tensions and direct communication between the two parties. Yee made these remarks after meeting Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic in Washington. The meeting focused on the EU-brokered dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.

Tahiri refutes Dačić: Armed forces can move in the north (RTK)

Dacic: Dialogue with Pristina biggest challenge for 2017 (Tanjug)

The dialogue with Pristina will definitely be the biggest challenge for Belgrade in 2017, FM Ivica Dacic said Thursday, noting the significance of maintaining the dialogue and implementing all agreements.

This primarily applies to establishing the Community of Serb Municipalities, Dacic told Radio Belgrade 1 in an interview, adding that Serbia would never have signed the Brussels Agreement without the pledge regarding the establishment of the Community.
