Voluntarism a condition for deployment of judges in Kosovo (RTK2)

The principle of willingness should be the main condition for deployment of judges in Kosovo, however the question remains how many judges from Serbia would agree to be integrated into the Kosovo judicial system. The president of the High Judicial Council of Serbia Dragomir Milojevic today said that judges cant’ be deployed into Kosovo courts against their own will and that the first criteria should be their good will, that they wish to be integrated into the Kosovo judiciary, whereas the final deal in relation to a relevant procedure has not been reached yet.

Dissolution of local assemblies in the north would jeopardize the dialogue (RTK2)

The introduction of the extraordinary measures in municipalities in northern Kosovo would lead to fiasco of the Brussels Agreement and the end of local institutions in the Kosovo system, since the local elections in line with the Kosovo laws would never take place there again, claims the Mayor of Leposavić/Leposaviq Dragan Jablanovic.

Municipalities in northern Kosovo still without budgets for 2015 (RTK2)

Even though MPs of North Mitrovica and Leposavić/Leposaviq municipalities have adopted budgets and forwarded them to relevant ministries, they haven’t been approved yet, because they are apparently not harmonized with the recommendations of the Ministry of Finance. Four municipalities in northern Kosovo last year adopted budgets for 2015 and forwarded them to Pristina for clearance, however Ministry for Local Government Administration did not approve them because they are not harmonized with the recommendations of the Ministry of Finance.

Minorities are not privileged but protected by the Constitution (RTK2)

The representatives of the Serbian community condemned the statement of Kosovo's Minister for Diaspora Valon Murati, who said that one of the reasons for discontent and mass emigration of Albanians from Kosovo is the privileged status of minorities and problematic relation with the Serbian community.  Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Branimir Stojanovic said that statement of Minister Murati is scandalous and it reflects the hatred not only against the Serbs, but also against all minority communities.

Kosovo Serbs seven years after independence (RTK2)

Kosovo Serbs today, on the seventh anniversary of the declaration of independence of Kosovo, share the fate of the whole of Kosovo society, such as poverty and unemployment. One of the representatives of the Serbs in Kosovo institutions in 2008, when Kosovo declared independence, was also and the current deputy in Assembly of Kosovo, Nenad Rasic. Nikolic: Erosion of autonomy of northern Kosovo has to stop (RTK2)

The President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic, said that Serbia has to stop the erosion of autonomy of northern Kosovo. In his interview to Belgrade-based daily ‘Politika’ he said that he didn’t give up on platform for Kosovo and that he will for sure forward his proposal to the government because, as he said, something has obviously changed in the EU with regard to its attitude toward Serbia. He added that he talks about the platform with the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic in order that his proposal is accepted by the government.

Ahmeti: Demolition is not a solution; we will work according to the law (RTK2)

Mayor of Pristina Shpend Ahmeti said there will be no discrimination, or privileges, in the process of legalization of buildings, including religious, such as the Temple of Christ the Savior, but also a number of mosques in the territory of the municipality.  When asked what kind of message Pristina would send to the displaced Serbs in case a temple of Christ the Saviour will be demolished, Mayor Shpend Ahmeti said that in this case he will only abide by the law. GI SDP: No more obstacles for ZSO constitution (dailies)

The agreement reached by Belgrade and Pristina in the continuation of the dialogue on normalisation of relations removed the obstacle for the constitution of the Community of Serb municipalities (ZSO), Citizens' Initiative 'Freedom, Democracy, Justice' (GI SDP) stated on Tuesday. GI SDP recalled that the achievement of the agreement posed an obstacle to the talks on ZSO constitution for almost a year. Now that the obstacle has been removed, we hope that the agreement on constitution and functioning of ZSO would be achieved soon, GI SDP released. The Initiative expects that Serbs in Kosovo-M
