Kohavision understood that the decision of the court to release Ramush Haradinaj on bail was made based on the state guarantees offered by Kosovo, through the official lawyer. Haradinaj will be staying at a place offered as guarantee by Kosovo.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović said today in a letter to the Secretary General of Interpol Jürgen Stock that the request of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Albania for the reassessment of the red warrant for Ramush Haradinaj represented rough and unacceptable interference of one state in sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
The arrest warrant issued for Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is still valid in Serbia, "as the procedure against him is ongoing," says the justice minister.
"There has already been a final ruling in the process against Thaci, for the crime of terrorism," Nela Kuburovic said on Wednesday, and added:
The Serbian Foreign Ministry asked some countries to reinforce security of Serbian diplomatic offices which, according to security information, are potential targets of Albanian terrorists. Diplomats in those embassies have received precise instructions from Belgrade about raising precautionary measures to the highest level.
Head of the War Crimes Prosecutor Milan Petrović said tonight that the proceedings against the former Hague indictee and the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, who was arrested in Basel on a warrant Serbia, does not become obsolete.
- Office of the War Crimes deals with offenses that do not expire, so proceedings against Ramush Haradinaj will continue until he is alive. There will be no interruption of the proceedings - said Petrović for RTS.
The Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, that started in 2013 with the signing of the Brussels agreement, is still far from over, and will continue this year as well.
Experts assess that the Trump administration could ease the pressure on Belgrade.
Monarchies, socialist, one party-states, the war-time 1990s, followed by two decades of transition, have not brought Serbs and Albanians closer together over the past 100 years.
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says he is "on good terms with representatives of all countries - especially after (their) visits to Serbia."
But, he added, his dearest guest in Belgrade is Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, "the first I call when Serbia has a problem."
Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said for Radio Free Europe that “Serbia does not have any role on establishment of the Association for Serb-majority Municipalities.” According to her, Serbian representatives do not have the authority to deal with the issue. “It is not up to Serbia to impose dates or make pressure,” she said.
Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said that the intention of the dialogue with Serbia in Brussels is reciprocal recognition of statehood.
The political settlement in the former Yugoslavia is unraveling. In Bosnia, the weakest state in the region, both Serbs and Croats are mounting a concerted challenge to the Dayton peace accords, the delicate set of compromises that hold the country together. In Macedonia, political figures from the large Albanian minority are calling for the federalization of the state along ethnic lines. In Kosovo, the Serb minority is insisting on the creation of a network of self-governing enclaves with effective independence from the central government.
