NATO SG to Blic daily: There is no establishment of Kosovo army without Serbs acceptance

In an interview NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg gave to Blic daily yesterday, topics such as depleted uranium, Kosovo army, and communities’ acceptance of the army were touched upon.

Asked to comment on lawsuits by 300 Italian soldiers suing NATO because they suffered from incurable diseases after their service in Kosovo that was bombed with depleted uranium, NATO SG stated that NATO is in Kosovo to help stabilize the region and avoid violence and unrests.

Kurti: Dialogue with Serbs, not Serbia (Danas, Blic)

Our priority will be dialogue with the Serbs from Kosovo, we have an economic and social plan for the northern municipalities of Kosovo and we are not against the Serbs, but Serbia is against us, said leader of the Self-Determination Movement Albin Kurti. Belgrade based daily Danas published a summary of Blic newspaper interview with Albin Kurti.

The previous dialogue held with Serbia in Brussels did not set any conditions for Serbia, and internal issues of Kosovo were discussed, which is why the outcome could not have been just, Kurti believes.

Petrović: If we wanted, we could support the establishment of an Army (KIM radio)

President of the Independent Liberal Party (SLS) Slobodan Petrović responded on increasingly frequent statements by representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the Serbian List that in the case of support to other candidates it would mean the vote for an army of Kosovo, by calling them 'false and insane', reports KIM radio.

Dačić: Government to continue to fight for sovereignty, integrity (B92)

KFOR: ROSU can move throughout Kosovo (N1, Politika)

The KFOR commander, Italian General Giovanni Fungo said to daily Politika that members of the Kosovo Police Special Units (ROSU) can move throughout Kosovo without the permission of KFOR; and added that it was regulated by the Brussels agreement (2013) between Belgrade and Pristina.

-On the basis of the Brussels Agreement of 2013 between Belgrade and Pristina, Kosovo's institutions are not required to seek approval from KFOR for their police forces to move throughout the territory of Kosovo, said Fungo.

Pavićević warns about the disruption of inter-ethnic relations (RTS)

The liaison officer of the Government of Serbia in Pristina Dejan Pavićević warns that a series of unilateral moves of the provisional institutions of self-government in Kosovo endanger the position of the Serbian people and damage interethnic relations in Kosovo. Thaçi offers his resignation to avoid trial (Sputnik, KIM radio)

Sputnik says that President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi offered the ''international community'' his resignation to avoid the trial before the Court for the KLA crimes, and cites assessment of political analyst from Pristina, Behlul Beqaj who said that this could be one of the three possible options.

Sputnik recalls that Thaçi mentioned his resignation at the moment when he insisted on the formation of the army of Kosovo, though Washington and NATO opposed.

Vučić: US is not against the army of Kosovo but thinks it is not the moment (Večernje Novosti)

Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić says for TV Happy that he does not think that US today is directly against the formation of the army of Kosovo but they think that the moment was not good.

He said that the reaction of the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg was different, and that he was sharper on the issue of the formation of the army.

"These are nuances, but we need to care of them. He was sharper on this issue and I thank him for that," said Vučić in TV Happy.
