Drecun: Unilateral Pristina’s acts destabilize dialogue (RTS)

A series of unilateral Pristina’s acts destabilize the dialogue and prevent its continuation, Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS morning news edition.

Commenting on Pristina’s initiative to join Interpol, Drecun said Serbia is making utmost efforts to prevent that and that many Interpol member states now completely understand what Pristina wants.

Tanaskovic: Fight in UNESCO under more favourable circumstances than in 2015 (RTS)

Former Serbian Ambassador to UNESCO, Darko Tanaskovic told RTS there is a “basis of understanding” formed in the international community, and it did not exist back in 2015 when Pristina attempted to become UNESCO member.

Asked if epilogue in Interpol could influence the situation in UNESCO, Tanaskovic replied it could either encourage or discourage Pristina and its mentors.

The security situation in Kosovo and Metohija is complex, Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said. He also added that the President Aleksandar Vucic is not the enemy of the Albanians living in Kosovo - but of those who want to expel and kill the Serbs living in that southern province.

Popovic-Ivkovic in Doha on Kosovo and Interpol (B92)

Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Secretary Biljana Popovic-Ivkovic met with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, B92 reports.

Ivkovic presented to the Prime Minister Al Thani stances and the arguments of the Republic of Serbia against Kosovo request to become Interpol member.

She noted that eventual admission of Kosovo in Interpol would constitute violation of the international law, politicization of this professional police organization and would have far-reaching consequences for its expert nature.

Stefanovic: Admission of Kosovo in Interpol would mean politicization (BETA)

Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs, Nebojsa Stefanovic said that the eventual admission of Kosovo in Interpol would be “a precedent” BETA news agency reports.

Stefanovic made these remarks during the talks with Austrian and Romanian diplomacy heads Karin Kneissl and Teodor Melescanu.

Speaking on the margins of third European Union and Arab World Summit in Athens, Stefanovic noted that admission of Kosovo in Interpol would run contrary to the international law, UN SC Resolution 1244, as well as rules and procedures of Interpol.
