The head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group, Pal Lekaj, has penned an open letter to Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, asking him to provide clarifications over his Deputy Branimir Stojanovic’s trip to Brussels where he is reportedly lobbying against Kosovo Assembly’s law on Trepca mining complex. Lekaj asked Mustafa on whether he is informed about Stojanovic’s trip and on who is funding his lobbying efforts. “Are you informed with your coalition partner’s agenda? Do you oversee where and why your deputies travel”, Lekaj asks.

Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, said today that he would make efforts to coordinate positions with the opposition before resubmitting the border demarcation deal with Montenegro to the Kosovo Assembly. “I think we will meet with the opposition be it directly or in other ways with the participation of foreign ambassadors too. We will try to coordinate our positions before resending the agreement to the Assembly.

Despite the continuous statements of the government officials that they have the votes of the Serbian List for the agreement on demarcation of the border between Kosovo and Montenegro, representatives of this party state the opposite. Nenad Rasić, Kosovo MP from the Serbian List, said that Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa’s claims and those of the government spokesperson Faton Abdullahu that the Serbian List would vote the demarcation, are not true. “This is not true,” Rasić said not wanting to comment the matter further.

Serb members of the Kosovo Assembly did not participate at the September 1 session that was scheduled to vote on the border demarcation agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro. Following the Serb boycott, the ruling coalition was forced to remove the border deal from the assembly’s agenda. Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said a broad-based roundtable would be organised with political parties to discuss the border deal with Montenegro, but the meeting has yet to take place.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa, expressed on his Facebook profile his satisfaction with the presence of the opposition parties at the Assembly of Kosovo. “After a long break, the entire opposition was today present at the Assembly. Without teargas, or eggs, without scenarios. Concerned more than they should about Serbia, but interested in many matters of Kosovo,” Mustafa wrote.

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said today that his government has no funds and no ways to pay for pensions of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) veterans. He said that the government commission, which prepared the list of KLA members eligible for a pension, had assured him that there would be no more than 12,000 people on the list. “Now, there are almost 30,000. If we pay for those who do not deserve the public money, we slide into corrupt activity”, said Mustafa at the meeting of the government.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister Isa Mustafa told members of the Assembly in Pristina today that Kosovo will be the sole owner of its telephone code. “We will administer this code, the server will be in Kosovo and the Kosovo Telecom will connect to the world using this server,” Mustafa said. He added that the International Telecommunications Union, and not Serbia, will give Kosovo its telephone code. “The ITU does not recognize Kosovo, but we have found the solution whereby Austria has applied on our behalf. There was no other solution,” he said.

Faton Abdullahu, spokesperson of the government of Kosovo, told Telegrafi that re-proceeding of the demarcation at the Assembly will not be delayed. “The Prime Minister Mustafa has just returned from New York, where he stayed for a week. He had many constructive and beneficial meetings including the one with President Obama. The priority of Prime Minister’s agenda is now demarcation and the positive thing is that there is an agreeable and coordinated will of the coalition parties not to prolong this draft-law unjustifiably.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Branimir Stojanović said today at the government meeting that the Municipality of Pristina threatened Kosovo Serbs by halting the cleaning-up works at the Orthodox Church in the city and called on the government of Kosovo to take a position on the issue. Prime Minister Isa Mustafa however said that the matter should not be politicized.

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said today that Kosovo is determined to meet the final criteria for visa liberalisation – the border demarcation with Montenegro. After meeting the newly-appointed head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova, Mustafa said that Brussels should pressure Serbia into implementing the agreements reached in the EU-brokered dialogue so far and added that Kosovo remains committed to this process. Apostolova asked Mustafa to brief her on the Kosovo Government’s concrete measures against corruption and nepotism.
