Two memorandums of cooperation to be signed at CEC (RTK)

Two memorandums of cooperation will be signed today at the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Initially, CEC will be signing a memorandum of cooperation with the EU Office in Kosovo, for monitoring of the early parliamentary elections. Another memorandum of cooperation will be signed between the government of Kosovo and the EU Office in Kosovo. These memorandums will be signed by the head of CEC, Valdete Daka, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj and the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova.

Coalition of Serb political parties and registering on election lists (RTK)

The leader of the Kosovo Serbs’ Party, Aleksandar Jablanovic, stated that his party has agreed for pre-election coalition with the Active Civic Initiative, led by Vuk Vukojevic, with its base in Mitrovica.

Jablanovic stated for Serbian media that the leadership of his party will submit on Friday the list of the candidates for parliamentary elections, which will be held on 11 June.

EU: We want elections and results acceptable for everyone (Gazeta Metro)

The Office of the European Union in Kosovo, requests for the election process in Kosovo to by fair and in accordance with the European standards.

“As far as the election process itself is concerned, Kosovo should demonstrate capability to organize fair and free elections in accordance with the European standards,” the EU officials said adding that an acceptable result for everyone should be reached.

Tim Judah: Serbia’s campaign revived Haradinaj politically (Gazeta Metro)

The well-known British journalist and analyst, Tim Judah, analyzed the possibility of new prime ministers in Serbia and Kosovo. He considers that such move could bring new approach at both governments as well as dialogue facilitated by the EU.

After the reach of pre-election coalition between the PDK and AAK, Judah wrote on Twitter that it can very easily happen for Ramush Haradinaj and Ivica Dacic to become heads of the executive.

Haradinaj: No room in Kosovo for association of Serb municipalities (Insajderi)

Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and candidate for prime minister from the coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), said at a memorial ceremony in the village of Jabllanica that he would use the trust given by the citizens and the political parties for the good of Kosovo and not political interests of his party.

Selimi: No one will drag Vetevendosje into political deals (Kosovapress)

Reports that Vetevendosje is expected to enter a coalition with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) were dispelled today by Vetevendosje MP Rexhep Selimi who said that these were merely speculations. “No one will drag Vetevendosje into political deals. If we wanted to enter into those kind of combinations we would have done so before,” Selimi said going on to confirm that Vetevendosje would run alone in June elections as “the only hope and the only solution.”

LDK: PDK-AAK-NISMA coalition was foreseeable (media)

Officials from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) reacted to the news that the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) signed a pre-election coalition with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) by saying the move was foreseeable. LDK spokesperson Arban Abrashi said to Klan Kosova that PDK signed the coalition as a reaction to the “fear” from the LDK earlier reaching an agreement with the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) and Alternative.

Sputnik: Five Serbian lists in the Kosovo elections (Danas)

Danas reports on Sputnik article saying that most likely five Serbian parties or groupings would participate in the Kosovo's elections. Sputnik says for the campaign nearly a half million euros.

Sputnik adds that it never has been that much money for those taking part in the elections because all participants will get for the campaign almost a million euros of the Kosovo budget; precisely - 942,573 euros.

Estonian FM: People of Kosovo to elect a government they can trust (Telegrafi)

Estonian Foreign Minister, Sven Mikser, said in Pristina today that he didn’t know there would be early elections in Kosovo at the time he planned his visit but underlined the importance of the voting process being transparent and fair.  Mikser said the people of Kosovo need to elect a government and a parliament they will be able to trust and that his country would continue supporting Kosovo and its efforts to join international organisations.
