This is why internationals are against elections! (Gazeta Blic)

Some international officials in Kosovo are categorically against early elections. International sources told Gazeta Blic that there are two reasons why they think new elections are not necessary. “We could face the same situation again; the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and other parties of the bloc might not reach a pre-election agreement and the PDK would be the winning party again. This is why new elections might not be productive,” the source said.

We need a solution, elections were good (Kosova Sot)

In a front-page editorial, the paper writes that after the failure of the Assembly to elect a new speaker and unsuccessful meetings President Atifete Jahjaga had with political leaders, new elections are being mentioned as the only alternative for unblocking the current deadlocked situation. The paper recalls that Kosovo had successful elections in June but because of the refusal of four opposition parties, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), as winner of elections, cannot secure the majority needed to form new institutions.

Unavoidable elections (Tribuna)

In an opinion piece for the paper, journalist Arben Ahmeti, observes that the logical solution for the current political deadlock in Kosovo is to hold elections as any other scenario creates institutions with no credibility. On one hand, the opposition coalition has no possibility to elect its own Assembly speaker. If it were however to leave the speaker’s post to the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and form the government on its own, this would make for a very complicated situation and there would always be a possibility for destabilization.

PM with Vucic, Kurti with Djuric (Blic)

Kosovo political analyst, Fatmir Sheholi, believes that representative of the Government of Kosovo will lead the political dialogue, and representative of the Self-determination will be at the forefront of technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which will be soon continued. He rejected the ambiguity, caused by the attitude of Self-determination, that Belgrade should not participate in the dialogue, but only representatives of Kosovo Serbs, the EU and European Commission.

We will be part of the solution, not the problem (KiM radio)

“The Serbian List doesn’t want to be a part of the problem, but part of the solution,” said Kosovo deputy PM, Slobodan Petrovic, adding that the position of the Serbian List did not change. "We are ready to take part of the responsibility, not only in parliament but also in the government. We will support the party, or coalition, that has a majority, and thus will demonstrate our willingness to solve problems, "said Petrovic.

Beqiri: Request for new elections, Thaci's blackmail (RTKlive)

Ismet Beqiri, general secretary of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), stated today for Politiko.net  that coalition block considers that the request for new elections, expressed by the adviser of the outgoing Prime Minister, Hashim Thaci, is blackmail. Beqiri said that the Democratic Party of Kosovo is trying to intimidate one of the three parties that have formed the after-election block. “We say that he is very much mistaken because the Block never feared new elections.

What, for the Serbian List, means the decision of the Constitutional Court?

Even before the decision, all parties in Kosovo have declared that they will respect it. We strive to be part of the solution, and not a problem.
