Minister walked out of Mauthausen ceremony over Kosovo flag (B92)

The flag of the non-existent state of Kosovo is an insult to all victims of the Second World War, Aleksandar Vulin has said.

Speaking on Monday, the Serbian minister of labor, social and veteran affairs explained his walkout over the weekend at the site of the Nazi death camp in Mauthausen, Austria, in this way:

No confirmation of weapons seized en route to Macedonia (B92, Vecernje Novosti)

There has been no official information about a Military Security Agency (VBA) operation that recently reportedly netted a large quantity of weapons.

Only Belgrade-based media have reported about this, saying that several thousand rifle parts, machine guns, mortars and hand grenades were seized during "the secret operation" - as they were illegally transported through Serbia to Macedonia.

Blic: Weapons transported to Macedonia seized in Serbia (B92)

Serbia's Military-Security Agency (VBA) has seized a large quantity of weapons in the southern parts of the country.

According to the daily Blic, the weapons were being transported illegally to Macedonia.

It is assumed that the weapons were intended for "the party infrastructure of the biggest Albanian parties" whose officials took part in armed conflicts in Macedonia, and in Kosovo and Metohija, the newspaper is reporting, citing "VBA sources."

Vucic responds to Haradinaj's threats: "I know who you are" (B92)

Prime Minister and President-elect Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday reacted to Ramush Haradinaj's latest threats to say that he "knows very well who Haradinaj is."

The Kosovo Albanian politician and former KLA leader, wanted by Belgrade on war crimes charges, earlier advised Vucic not to "mess" with him or "play with Albanians."

New Macedonian speaker brings Albanian flags to his office (B92)

The newly elected Macedonian Assembly President Talat Xhaferi has received the keys to the cabinet where the seals for certification of documents are located.

The new president of the parliament in Skopje can therefore officially take office and inform President Gjorge Ivanov that there is a new majority in parliament.

Immediately after entering the cabinet, Xhaferi held a meeting with Slovenian diplomat Samuel Zbogar, who is EU's special representative in Macedonia.

Zaev says Serbia has nationalist leadership; Dacic reacts (B92)

Friends of Serbia do not behave the way SDSM leader Zoran Zaev has done, says First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.

The Macedonian politician earlier on Tuesday said that Serbs and Macedonians are "brotherly people" but that "nationalist leadership of Aleksandar Vucic" is in power in Serbia.

"Serbs are the biggest and best friends to Macedonians, while the way Zaev has acted is not the way friends of Serbia behave," Dacic said.

Media urged to join protest on World Press Freedom Day (media)

NUNS, UNS and the Nezavisnost media branch trade union are urging media to stop broadcasting Wednesday within the "Five minutes of thunderous silence" campaign.

In separate statements, the journalist associations said the traditional campaign is a warning to the public about the never-worst position of the journalistic profession in Serbia.

Ivica Dacic says Serbia's authorities took "appropriate" measures in the wake of a French court's decision not to extradite Ramush Haradinaj.

The first deputy prime minister and foreign minister said the withdrawal of the Serbian ambassador to France for consultations and three months of non-participation in conferences in France represent "a measure by which Serbia has shown its opposition to the decision."
