Nikolic : Albanians can't avoid making concessions, and threaten (B92, Beta)

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has told UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin that Serbia is committed to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Nikolic also said that the efforts of Serbia aimed at Kosovo not becoming a state are effective as long as the UN mission in Kosovo, UNMIK, performs its role to the extent and in the manner as before, the president's cabinet announced, according to Beta.

Đurić with Tanin: ZSO should be established without delay (KIM radio)

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić met with UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin today. They discussed the political and security situation in Kosovo and dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, reported KIM radio.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić emphasized that Belgrade wants the full implementation of the agreements reached in Brussels, especially those related to the Community/Association of Serb municipalities, which, according to him, must be established without delay.

Kontakt Plus radio reports that the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić will meet with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin.

As announced by the President's Office for cooperation with the media after the meeting a press release will follow.

And TV Most reports that the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić will meet with UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin at the Palace "Serbia".

The Committee for Foreign Affairs, met today with Zahir Tanin, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General. After the meeting which lasted more than two hours, Tanin said to the media that UNMIK is a decision of the Security Council and that this is the reason why they are here. He also said that they will be in Kosovo as long as the Security Council wants them to be.

“This weekend’s statement by a senior Kosovo parliamentarian, using hate speech to threaten ethnic cleansing, is unacceptable, and a cause for serious concern,” Zahir Tanin, the special representative of the UN secretary-general and the head of the UN’s Kosovo mission UNMIK, said in a statement on Monday.

The liaison officer of the Government of Serbia in Pristina Dejan Pavićević warns that a series of unilateral moves of the provisional institutions of self-government in Kosovo endanger the position of the Serbian people and damage interethnic relations in Kosovo. He said this in talks with UNMIK Chief Zahir Tanin and Head of the EU Office in Kosovo Nataliya Apostolova, RTS reports.
