On Thursday a verdict for Ivanovic (KIM radio)

Basic Court in Mitrovica on Thursday should pass a judgment to leader of the Civic Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic.

Nebojsa Vlajic, Ivanovic's lawyer, told Tanjug that he expects an acquittal, because as he said, the plaintiff has not offered a proof for the allegations.

Vlajic said that at today's hearing will be presented closing arguments for another three Serbs accused and that the judges would have one, two days of deliberations after which on Thursday should be published a verdict.

The leader of the Civic initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic says that the decision of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo on the Community/ Association of Serbian Municipalities (ZSO) is worded in such a way which enables the government of Kosovo to do certain changes, "more cosmetic in nature," but he doubts there will be substantial changes on the agreed in Brussels in regards to the ZSO.

Ivanovic told Tanjug that the call of the Kosovo Constitutional Court, on the equality of all communities in Kosovo, is irrelevant.

Verdict in case against Oliver Ivanovic on 21 January (TV Most)

Court proceeding against leader of the Citizens’ Initiative “SDP” Oliver Ivanovic and another four Serbs is coming to an end. On January 18, the lawyers of the accused Serbs should give the final word. As stated, EULEX judges will decide on the verdict on 19 and 20 January, and day later the verdict should be announced.  Ivanovic said that two days for making decision on the verdict are brief interval, considering the documents submitted to the court, but he added that judges probably have limitations related to the deadlines.

Today, the closing arguments in defense of Oliver Ivanovic (KIM Radio)

In the Municipal Court in Mitrovica north solicitors of the CI SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic and another four Serbs will today give their closing arguments in the trial held before that Court. Previous closing speech was given by the prosecutor Romulo Mateus. The evidence procedure was completed last week, and within the trial, which began on December 18 last year and which is being waged against Ivanovic and four other Serbs, were interrogated 55 witnesses.

Ivanovic: The international community to exert pressure on Pristina (Blic)

The leader of the Civil Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic seeks from the international community to exert strong pressure on the Kosovo government and the police to protect Serbs in Kosovo.

Ivanovic told that if the international community does not pressure the official Pristina, their "concern and regret" after the terrorist acts will have no effect.

Ivanovic's defence before the Court in north Mitrovica (TV Most, KIM radio, Politika)

Oliver Ivanovic will present today in the Municipal Court in northern Mitrovica a defence before the EULEX three-member panel of judges.

Ivanovic is in custody and charged with serious crimes committed against Albanians in 1999 and 2000 in southern and northern Mitrovica.

Ivanovic's house arrest extended (RTK2, KIM radio)

The International Trial Chamber of the Basic Court in Mitrovica has extended the house arrest for Oliver Ivanovic, leader of the Citizens' Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (SDP), until January 17, 2016.

Ivanovic is charged with war crime against civilians allegedly committed in 1999 and 2000.

Ivanovic has been kept in custody since January 2014 despite guarantees of the Serbian government.

 

 

Ivanovic's lawyer expects a just verdict (TV Most)

We have come to the stage of the trial where we finished interrogation of the prosecution witnesses, and that's what we have long hoped for, to stop stalling of the process, said Nebojsa Vlajic, lawyer of the CI SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic.

"Of the 55 prosecution witnesses, none of them have directly accused Oliver Ivanovic, for anything that is related to the subject of the indictment," said Vlajic.

About the abolition of Ivanovic's detention at a closed session (KIM radio)

The Basic court in Mitrovica has resumed the trial of Oliver Ivanovic and another four Serbs with the examination of Murat and Dorata Shkodra. On Thursday at a closed session will be discussed the abolition of detention to Ivanovic and Delibasic, said defence.

Ljubomir Pantovic, Ivanovic's defence lawyer, said to Kontakt plus radio that witnesses, Murat and Durata Shkodra, have not linked Ivanovic with the indictment.

Continuation of the trial to Oliver Ivanovic (KIM Radio)

After the summer break today in the Municipal Court in Kosovska Mitrovica will be resumed the trial to Oliver Ivanovic.  Ivanovic is charged with the criminal offense of war crimes against civilians during 1999 and 2000. The trial will resume by the testimonies of prosecution witnesses. So far, in the court proceeding against Ivanovic and another four Serbs, were questioned 47 prosecution witnesses.
