Even after elections, Serbia on a balance between the West and Russia (Koha)

Brussels-based correspondent Augustin Palokaj writes in an opinion piece that the European Union and Russia have shown exceptional interest in Sunday’s parliamentary elections in Serbia. “Western politicians do not hide their wishes for Aleksandar Vucic, leader of the Serbian Progressive Party, to win the elections”. Palokaj notes that Vucic has maintained brotherly relations with Russia and meanwhile has gotten closer with the European Union and the United States of America.

It is not excluded that the current ban for the Serbs with the Serbian identity cards has not been negotiated between Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci, suspect the Patriotic block.

The reasons, as Petrit Selimi, the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Government of Kosovo, says, are that they are war criminals and that they will never enter Kosovo.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic says that he does not interfere with daily or an individual political decisions of the Kosovo Serbs, neither with the issue of whether the Serbian List will leave the Kosovo Assembly.

He points out that they will certainly have the support of Belgrade, until it is unambiguously clear that their country is Serbia, Belgrade the capital and that they are protecting the future.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa promised a speedy reaction towards the recent visits of the Serbian officials in Kosovo as well as the announcements that they made. “Today we are visiting the most senior institution of education in Kosovo, therefore I would want to focus on this. However I promise that during the day or tomorrow, we will respond to your questions, but in the government building,” Mustafa said.

Montenegrin Liberal Party (CLS) fully supports the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and its president Aleksandar Vucic, in the next elections, said Snezana Karadzic, founder of the CLS.

Karadzic states that the CLS sincerely appreciates the policy of cooperation, a policy of unity and reconciliation in the region, for which advocates the SNS and its President.
