"Putin and Trump to solve Kosovo issue in a minute?" (Blic, B92, RTK2)

There is "a great chance" that the solution to the Kosovo problem lies in the meeting between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, Blic write today.

Belgrade-based daily Blic adds that "the two leaders should reach an agreement on that issue."

The daily claims, citing diplomatic sources, that this is "the plan of the Serbian leadership and President Aleksandar Vucic."

Putin to visit Serbia this coming fall (B92, Tanjug)

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Serbia in the fall, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Friday morning.

"I was told by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with whom I spoke in Moscow yesterday, that this was being planned," Dacic told RTS.
Dacic also said Lavrov told him that if the format of the Kosovo negotiations in Brussels were to be expanded, Moscow would be ready to participate.

Serbia will have to compromise, Kosovo won't, analyst says (N1)

The 2025 target date for Serbia’s European Union membership is not a reality, but it is not impossible either, Toby Vogel, a Brussels-based analyst told N1 Belgrade.

However, Vogel, Research Communications Officer from the Centre for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) added there were considerable obstacles to overcome and that Belgrade would have to make a significant concession, while Pristina would not but would benefit from the situation because there was no balance of power between the two.

Normalising Ties Essential, EU Tells Serbia, Kosovo (Balkan Insight)

Ahead of a new meeting between Serbia's and Kosovo's presidents due in two weeks, the EU has reminded both sides that progress on normalisation of their relations is vital.

Another of a new expected meeting between the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia, the Council of the European Union has said that progress by Serbia and Kosovo towards normalisation of their relations is essential – and will determine the pace of their respective European integrations.

Serbian President Aleksadar Vucic said he "does not intend to hide behind the people when it comes to Kosovo - as some claim he would."

Speaking on Wednesday in Kraljevo, central Serbia, where he attended the police-military exercise Joint Strike, the President Vucic also said that "the citizens will be the ones who will decide on their future."

"Some mind me saying that I will not be making a decision on the solution for Kosovo and Metohija without asking the citizens and claim I would ask them in order to hide behind them, use them as a fig leaf," Vucic said.

Morocco continues to support Serbia's territorial integrity (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Wednesday in Belgrade with Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Habib El Malki.

El Maliki stressed that Morocco's policy when it comes to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia is unchangeable, the president's office said in a press release. He also welcomed Serbia's stance regarding the territorial integrity of his own country.

“Referendum on agreement with Pristina most probably in 2019” (Danas)

In case of any agreement reached between Belgrade and Pristina, a referendum on that topic would most certainly take place, and according to Danas daily diplomatic sources’ expectations it would happen next year.

According to the sources, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also announced such scenario following his talks with Hashim Thaci last Sunday, by saying that “he won’t sign anything, but the people would have the final say.”
