Thaci: Russian airplanes in Serbia, threat for Balkans (Lajmi.net)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci told Croatian daily Jutarnji that transformation of Kosovo Security Force into an army does not represent a threat for any country of the region, instead it would contribute to peace.

Thaci said that Kosovo is a sovereign state and as any independent country, has the right to have its own army. According to him, this will happen during this year and these forces will be trained according to NATO standards.

Dačić: Government to continue to fight for sovereignty, integrity (B92)

The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, said after his meeting with the Swedish Foreign Minister, Margot Wallström, that nationalist and religious ideologies want to use EU’s vacuum in Balkans.

“We understand that EU is tired with enlargement. However, the aspiration of Western Balkans countries to become part of the EU, should not suffer due to this tiredness,” Thaci said.

“EU’s delay to approach the region of Western Balkans is threat for security,” Thaci said.

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said that he has not mentioned a Greater Albania in any of his statements. He also said that EU’s lack of leadership and vision opened way for other ideologies and impacts in the region, such as nationalism, extremism and political radicalism.

He accused “Serbia’s bad spirit which aims legitimizing a greater Serbia, acting under the nose of the EU and international community.”
