Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko to N1: ''Serbia may be a link between West and Moscow; Haradinaj’s statement 'ridiculous'''

Russian ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko told N1 on Thursday that Russia sees Serbia as a link between the West and Moscow, adding the free trade agreement between Serbia and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was expected to be signed on October 25.

He added that Serbia’s road to the European Union should not distant the country from EAEU.

Botsan-Kharchenko also said that EU candidates should not face a choice between Brussels or Moscow.

Bishop Teodosije: Late Patriarch Pavle never supported division of Kosovo (Danas, Kontakt plus radio, RTV Puls, KIM radio)

On Sunday, Bishop of Raska-Prizren Teodosije refuted the claims published by some Belgrade-based media that the late Patriarch Pavle was in favour of the division of Kosovo, reported Serbian media.

Bishop Teodosije opined that “the idea of a territorial-ethnic division of Serbia in KiM, which is nothing but an invitation for the betrayal of Kosovo, people and the state, all of us are being brought into a state of further confusion and hopelessness”.

UK ambassador to Serbia: UK and Serbia have complex relations, but share common values (Beta, N1, RTV, Blic)

The outgoing UK ambassador to Serbia Denis Keefe said on Thursday that his country and Serbia have a complex relationship, but that the two countries share common values, the Beta news agency reported.

Keefe said, visiting the Vojvodina RTV Show Pravi Ugao (Right Angle), that British suggestion of the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN Security Council three years ago was not against Serbia, adding that the reconciliation in the region requested "honesty and open discussion, not the relativisation."

Patriarch Irinej in Prizren: Serbian people would never be able to accept division (KoSSev)

Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej who is paying a visit to Kosovo and Metohija said in Prizren on Sunday that “what we hear today about some sort of division, a compromise, is something that Serbian people would never be able to accept, in particular people from Kosovo and Metohija,” KoSSev portal reported. The Patriarch Irinej added “what would be the worst, the most detrimental is for us to renounce Kosovo, to give it away to somebody.

Biserko: Is it worth to sacrifice Serbs from Kosovo because of the agreement on the division of territory? (NMagazin, Danas)

Chairperson of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights Sonja Biserko assessed for Belgrade-based daily Danas that the division of Kosovo and the exchange of territory became legitimate option for a part of the international community and warned that such a solution would sacrifice the fate of the Serbs there.

"There will be no war in southern Serbia" (Vecernje Novosti, Tanjug, B92)

The president of the coordinating body of the Government of Serbia for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja  Zoran Stankovic told Belgrade based daily Vecernje Novosti that the southern part of central Serbia is not threatened by any armed conflict.

Stankovic categorically claims that a war in this area will not happen, despite "constant announcements".

Berlin’s stance on change of borders in the Balkans would look differently, if Washington would support an idea of Serbian President Vucic on delineation, analyst Dejan Vuk Stankovic told Tanjug news agency.
