Police arrest Vetevendosje MP, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi (media)

Kosovo Police have arrested Vetevendosje MP, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, at the border crossing with the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), media reported. Vetevendosje in a statement confirmed Kadaj-Bujupi's arrest and said she was detained on previous charges. "This arrest, at a time when demarcation is being anticipated at the Assembly, is a provocation," the party said and called on law enforcement mechanisms to stop "persecuting" Vetevendosje MPs and activists.

 In her second day of the visit to Pristina, European Parliament’s Rapporteur on visa liberalisation for Kosovo, Tanja Fajon, continued with her meetings with the Parliament of Kosovo.

Fajon met with the Commission for European Integration, to speak about visa liberalization, while the main subject of the discussions was voting of the demarcation of the border with Montenegro.

Head of the Vetëvednosje parliamentary group, Glauk Konjufca, said today at the Assembly session that government of Kosovo and Serbia are orchestrating spectacles, by stopping a train and not removing a wall. He added that situation in the north cannot improve by demolition of the wall or by stopping Serbian trains, but by dissolving of the parallel structures.

Vetevendosje MP Rexhep Selimi told Zeri that Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic appoints the Serb ministers in the Kosovo Government. “The Serb ministers in the Kosovo Government and the Serbian List in general do not represent the Kosovo Serbs but rather Belgrade’s policies in Kosovo’s institutions … Through the Serbian List, the Serbian Prime Minister is keeping hostage the state of Kosovo. Because of this relation, Kosovo does not have its army today and it even lacks full control over the whole police force,” Selimi added.

AKR and Vetevendosje to announce coalition in Mitrovica today (Gazeta Metro)

Citing an unnamed source, the news website reports that the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) and the Vetevendosje Movement (VV) will announce their coalition for the municipality of Mitrovica South, today at 11:00. Mitrovica South Mayor Agim Bahtiri earlier gave to Vetevendosje three municipal departments and the post of deputy mayor. The news website recalls that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) left the ruling coalition, after Bahtiri dismissed the LDK-head of the municipal education department.

Vetevendosje MP, Driton Caushi, in today’s plenary session of the Assembly accused the government of trying to “fog out” the case regarding Astrit Dehari’s death at the Prizren detention facility. “Today marks 45 days from Astrit’s death and many citizens continue to seek justice for him while the regime is employing all possible means to fog out the case and close the investigation,” Caushi said adding that the official account into Dehari’s death resembles science fiction movies.

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) Nezir Çoçaj, said at the extraordinary Assembly session today on Astrit Dehari’s case that they have gathered to discuss a tragic case, which should have been held after the conclusion of the investigation on the grenade attack on the Assembly of Kosovo. “This is what Asrtit Dehari together with other Vetëvendosje activists was arrested for,” he said.

Konjufca: PDK and LDK have kidnapped the assembly session (media)

Vetevendosje parliamentary group chief, Glauk Konjufca, said today’s assembly session was “kidnapped by the PDK and LDK” with the aim of ignoring the petition signed by over 23,000 citizens who demanded the resignations of the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Interior Affairs. Konjufca argued that “this regime killed Astrit Dehari” and that “the same regime is trying to label Vetevendosje a terrorist organisation”.

Vetevendosje calls for extraordinary Assembly session regarding PISA results (Koha)

Vetevendosje Movement has called for an urgent session of the Kosovo Assembly to discuss the recent result of the survey of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) which ranked the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students in Kosovo on the 68th place out of a total of 70 countries assessed. Vetevendosje MP Mytaher Haskuka said PISA results show Kosovo students lag behind those in other countries by four years.
