Djuric: Important that Kosovo elections go without incidents (B92, Tanjug)

It's important that mayoral elections in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo take place without incidents and in a democratic atmosphere.

The director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, said this on Monday in Belgrade in conversation with the head of the OSCE mission in Kosovo, Jan Braathu.

Memorial plaque to missing journalists placed for the eighth time (KoSSev, Radio KIM)

Members of the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) and its branch in Kosovo (DNKiM) accompanied by Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jan Braathu placed on Friday a memorial plaque dedicated to their missing colleagues, Radio Pristina journalists, Djura Slavuj and Ranko Perenic for the eighth time, KoSSev portal reports.

The memorial plaque was placed where the two journalists were last seen in August 1998 in the village of Zociste, near Velika Hoca.

Issues affecting the non-majority communities in Kosovo, including usurped properties, non-implementation of decisions, the slowdown in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue because of the tariffs were the topics discussed in a meeting between the Minister for Communities and Returns Dalibor Jevtic and OSCE officials, High Commissioner on National Minorities Lamberto Zannier and Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jan Braathu, KIM Radio reported.

Jevtic, in a press statement issued by the Ministry, said a chance to change the situation must be given.

It elaborates on number of challenges and provides conclusions and a set of recommendations for institutions and shelters themselves.

OSCE: Report on communities' access to pre-university education in Kosovo (Kontakt plus radio)

The OSCE Mission in Kosovo published yesterday a report which assesses the access to pre-university education for non-majority communities in Kosovo. The report, Communities’ Access to Pre-University Education in Kosovo, covers the period from 2014 to 2017 and looks into the provision of education in the majority and community languages.

Students in Mitrovica North will symbolically bury international law and resolution 1244 (Vecernje Novosti)

Vecernje Novosti reports that the new protest of the students in Mitrovica North is scheduled for today at 12.30. A walk is planned from the student canteen to the headquarters of the OSCE and UNMIK, where it will symbolically be buried International Law, UNSC Resolution 1244, the UN Charter and the military-technical agreement from Kumanovo at 12.44.

Lavrov: Brussels should not patronize Pristina (Tanjug, B92)

Moscow expects from Brussels to make Pristina fulfill its obligations deriving from the Brussels agreement and establish Community of Serb Municipalities, as well as not to patronize it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, Tanjug news agency reported.

Russian Minister is participating in the 25th OSCE Ministerial Council in Milan, Italy.
