Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric said that the incident at Visoki Decani monastery is a warning and reminder that Kosovo institutions must tackle the causes of religious extremism. "This incident reveals the need for Kosovo institutions and politicians in Pristina to address the social causes of religious extremism which threaten the future of all people living in Kosovo, instead of dealing with the non-existent threat in the form of the Association / Community of Serb Municipalities," said Djuric.

Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration, Bekim Collaku, has requested from the European Union countries to treat Kosovo in an equal manner as its neighboring countries.

The Director for Kosovo at the Government of Serbia, Marko Djuric, told Serbian media that the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa is misinterpreting the result of the most recent round of talks between Pristina and Belgrade, especially regarding the statute of the Association/Community for Serb-majority Municipalities.

"In the last seven or eight months we have not seen Pristina implement the agreements and our pressure will be aimed in that direction," Djuric said.

Verdict to Oliver Ivanovic is deeply unfair. Because of it the fact  is even more apparent that even today no one has been held responsible for thousands of deaths and displaced Serbs from Kosovo.

The verdict for Oliver Ivanovic is not final. Lawyers will file an appeal, but Marko Djuric Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo believes that lawyers cannot help prevent a politically motivated process. "First, it should be said that there is something rotten in the Kosovo judiciary.

Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric said today that Serbia is appalled by the verdict of Oliver Ivanovic's case and that in such an atmosphere, continuing the dialogue with Pristina should be seriously considered. "My personal opinion is that Pristina and the international community needs to provide Serbia with additional assurance that the dialogue makes sense. For me personally it seems that in this atmosphere, there is not a lot to talk about and it all comes down to the humiliation of Serbia," Djuric told reporters.

The director of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian government, Marko Djuric, stated that Belgrade would not accept any alternative other than full implementation of the agreements signed in Brussels with the government of Pristina. This official stressed that Serbia is determined to pursue this issue until resolved and added that changes of the draft would not be accepted.

Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric will lead the Belgrade delegation in the in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina which will be held from 18 to 20 January in Brussels. During this round of talks which will be held at the expert level will be discussed the establishment of Association / Community of Serb municipalities, telecommunications, freedom of movement, university diplomas and other open issues.

The Head of the Serbian government office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric has expressed hope that the new Special Court for crimes committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), with headquarters in The Hague, would present more determination and more efficiency than the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
