Russian Ambasador: Russia’s stance towards Kosovo unchanged (RTK)

The Ambassador of Russia in Albania, Aleksandar Karpushin, stated that Russia’s position toward Kosovo continues to remain unchanged, sticking to resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council. However, according to him, this position will not impede development of the relation between Russia and Albania. Karpushin criticized Albania for joining the European Union sanctions which according to him are anti-Russian and illegal.

UNMIK informed Kosovo Police about Thaçi’s arrest (RTK)

Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Naim Rexha, is reporting on Nehat Thaçi’s arrest to the Kosovo Assembly Committee for internal affairs, security and supervision of the Kosovo Security Force.

“On 28 September, at around 00:10, a person reported the case of the arrest of the official Nehat Thaçi during his entrance in Serbia. According to him, the lieutenant-colonel crossed the border at 20:10 hours.

Hyseni: Somebody told me on the phone: Sorry, I wanted to kill you (RTK)

Speaking about the political murders, Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Skënder Hyseni said that he is not certain if someone tried to kill him. Somebody apologized to him through a phone call telling him that he wanted to kill him. “It is a discourse where everyone that feels like it, deals with political murders and these matters should resolve in order to avoid this discourse,” Hyseni said.

Thaçi: Let us unite against human trafficking (RTK)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, participated at the organized conference for the European Union Day Against Human Trafficking. Thaçi stressed that many people in the world are facing this shameful phenomenon and Kosovo is not excluded. “This phenomenon should be prevented through concrete measures and actions,” Thaçi said. He said that this is the right momentum to united, prevent and fight this crime, in all its shapes and do more on protecting trafficked victims.

Government of Kosovo insists it will not delay resubmitting border demarcation deal (RTK)

Kosovo Government officials insist that there will be no delays in resubmitting the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro to the Assembly. The ratification process will also require the votes of the MPs from the Serbian List which is at present boycotting Kosovo institutions. The bill requires at least 80 votes in favour to be passed and the ruling coalition faces the prospect of having 11 votes less from the members of the Serbian List. This means that the ruling coalition currently can only muster 73 votes in favour.

Ymeri requests from Rama not to go to Begrade (media)

The leader of the Vetëvendosje movement, Visar Ymeri, has requested through a status on his Facebook profile from the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, not to go to Belgrade where the future of the Albanian-Serbian relations will be discussed.

“The PM of Albania, Edi Rama, is expected to participate tomorrow at a panel with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Vučić, to discuss on “The future of Serb-Albanian relations as well as stability in Southeastern Europe.

NISMA: Thaçi’s call for solving of crimes, a false slogan (RTK)

In a statement to the media, Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), said that Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi’s appeal for resolving all crimes committed in Kosovo during and after the conflict is nothing more than a false slogan definitely not aimed at establishing rule of law in Kosovo. “This is an attempt to distract the public from many affairs he [Thaçi] appears to be involved,” said NISMA. It went on to call on the judicial institutions to look into the claims of the former Kosovo Central Bank governor, Hashim Rexhepi, that Thaçi instructed him to invest public funds in dubious schemes.
