Haradinaj: FBI should investigate Demarcation (RTK)

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said in an interview for RTK, that he had addressed President Jahjaga regarding the demarcation of the border between Kosovo and Montenegro, convinced that there were violations during the process. According to him, “an urgent international investigation should take place.”

Information center on women’s health opened in Strpce (RTK)

An information center for women’s health is being opened in the Municipality of Strpce. This center, according to a press release issued by NGO Action for Mothers and Children, will bring women from different ethnicity together to share their experiences of being a mother. The center also will offer group and individual advice to women on nutrition during pregnancy, stages of pregnancy, physical and psychological preparation for childbirth, newborn care and breastfeeding.

The Interior Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Federal Republic of Germany, Lorenz Caffier, promised Germany’s engagement in Kosovo’s INTERPOL and EUROPOL membership. He made these comments after a meeting with Kosovo’s Minister of Interior, Skender Hyseni, during which they discussed the repatriation of Kosovo emigrants. Vetevendosje calls for justice for raped women (RTK)

The Vetevendosje movement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, 8 March, organized a debate on victims of sexual violence during the last war in Kosovo. During this meeting it was said that Kosovo institutions even 17 years after the war, have done nothing to protect the victims of sexual violence. The leader of Vetevendosje movement, Visar Ymeri, said the issue of sexual violence victims is being treated in the worst way possible, is being ignored and forgotten.

Croatian minister pledges support for Kosovo (RTK)

Croatian Minister of Defence Josip Buljevic said in Pristina today that his country will continue supporting Kosovo in all processes toward Euro-Atlantic integration. “We will offer support in all international efforts. We will continue working in bringing our friendly relations to a fraternal level,” said Buljevic in his first visit abroad since taking on the new post. The Croatian official made the comments after meeting Kosovo Security Force Minister Haki Demolli.

UN Security Council to discuss developments in Kosovo today (RTK)

Today's session of the UN Security Council will focus on the UN Secretary-General’s report on Kosovo covering the period from 16 October 2015 to 15 January 2016. Despite the fact it does not cover events that occurred in February, the report is quite critical towards opposition parties in Kosovo accusing them of employing violence both in the streets and inside the Kosovo Assembly.
