Police arrest Vetevendosje’s Xhelal Svecla (Telegrafi)

The news site reports that Kosovo Police arrested Xhelal Svecla, Inspection Director at Pristina municipality and member of the Vetevendosje Movement, this morning. Media recall that the prosecution had issued an arrest warrant for Svecla over an action by the Vetevendosje Movement that resulted in the demolition of EULEX vehicles in 2013.

LDK condemns attack on Minister Abrashi (Insajderi)

Vetevendosje deputy leader Driton Caushi has condemned the setting on fire of the car owned by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief Ismet Beqiri. “Such acts are deplorable and we call on institutions to act and not leave room for anyone’s labeling or smearing,” Caushi wrote on his Facebook account. He further commented on a statement by publicist Halil Matoshi who seemed to suggest Vetevendosje is responsible for the attack.

Coalition partners condemn fire-setting to car owned by LDK MP Beqiri (Koha)

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has strongly condemned the setting alight of the car owned by the party’s head of parliamentary group Ismet Beqiri. “This low criminal act is an attack directed at the institutions, legitimate representatives and against the democratic functioning of the Republic of Kosovo,” the LDK said in a statement.

Kosovo Assembly MP from Vetevendosje movement, Albulena Haxhiu, wrote on her Facebook page that “the square of opposition will be filled with the citizens of the Republic.”

Zemaj: Early elections to be announced on 7 March (Telegrafi.com)

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), who is also member of the Assembly Committee for Legislation, Mandate and Immunities, Armend Zemaj, said that he would not vote Hashim Thaci for the president of Kosovo. He also stated during today’s meeting of the Committee, that Kosovo will announce early elections on 7 March. The Committee gave the green light to four draft laws foreseen to be discussed at this meeting.

Veseli: Assembly on Friday to decide on visa liberalization issues (Koha)

The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, confirmed after the meeting with the heads of parliamentary groups that the regular plenary session will be held on Friday at 10:00 hours. They will discuss 22 points of the agenda.
