Pacolli: "We're working on the ZSO, but I'm not sure it will be until the 20th" (KIM radio, Blic)

Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli told Belgrade based daily Blic that the Kosovo government is working to form the Community/Association of Serb municipalities (ZSO).

However, he says, he cannot predict whether the ZSO will be formed for three weeks, that is, until April 20th.

Pacolli asks Constitutional Court to interpret resolution on election of president (Epoka e Re)

The leader of the New Kosovo Alliance Behgjet Pacolli has addressed the Constitutional Court asking it to interpret the Kosovo Assembly resolution of 2011 stipulating that the next president of Kosovo should be elected directly by the people instead of by Assembly. At the time, the resolution was ratified after a political agreement reached between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Hashim Thaci, Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader Isa Mustafa, and New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) leader Behgjet Pacolli.

Pacolli: Kosovo needs new elections (Gazeta Blic)

The New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) leader Behxhet Pacolli said today that the Kosovo government should resign and make way for early parliamentary elections. “I am confident that the country does not need the recent events and sights at the Kosovo Assembly. The people of Kosovo today are faced with survival problems and the Mustafa government has failed from its first day in office. In order to save the country from a deeper crisis and from eventual riots, I believe the government should resign and new elections should be held,” Pacolli wrote on his Facebook account.

Pacolli confident vehicle insurance agreement will start implementation tomorrow (Lajmi)

Rrahim Pacolli, the head of the Kosovo delegation for talks on vehicle insurance, said today he was confident that the agreement on vehicle insurance with Serbia will start being implemented tomorrow. Pacolli told the news site that the Kosovar side has made all necessary preparations. Asked if Serbia will delay the implementation of the agreement again, Pacolli said, “Any party that will fail to implement the agreement will be penalized by the European Union”.

Bahtiri could join LDK (Gazeta Express)

Agim Bahtiri, the Mayor of Mitrovica municipality and member of the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) told Gazeta Express that he is talking with senior members of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) but that he has yet to decide if he will join this party. The AKR is undergoing internal elections and it is not known if Behxhet Pacolli will remain party leader of if he will be replaced by Mimoza Kusari-Lila, current deputy party leader and Mayor of Gjakova municipality.

Pacolli: Blockade can be overcome, elections remain an option (Gazeta Express)

In an interview for Express, Behxhet Pacolli, leader of the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), says that overcoming the current political crisis would be easy if politicians would put interests of the state ahead of their private interests. Pacolli said the AKR, which failed to cross the election threshold in the last national elections, was consolidating its ranks and that a total reconfiguration would take place in September.

Outgoing Prime Minister Hashim Thaci met on Wednesday with Behxhet Pacolli, leader of the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), in a restaurant in Pristina. Pacolli was accompanied by his deputy, Mimoza Kusari-Lila. Thaci told reporters after the meeting that “this was a meeting between friends”, while Pacolli called it an ordinary meeting but left open the possibility of a coalition with Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) if the AKR manages to pass the election threshold.
