The Kosovo Assembly presidency decided to schedule the next plenary session on Thursday but the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro will not be on the agenda, said Assembly President Kadri Veseli. Asked by reporters to comment on the recent action by Vetëvendosje MPs who set up a Kosovo sign at the border with Montenegro, Veseli said no one should take actions that could impair neighbourly relations with Montenegro. “Not an inch of our country’s land will be given to another country”, declared Veseli at the end of the Assembly presidency’s meeting.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, wrote on his Facebook page about demarcation, noting that the process is in order and that this obligation should be fulfilled, because it endangers liberalization of visas.

 Five MPs of the Vetevendosje movement, Albin Kurti, Fisnik Ismaili, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi and Ismajl Kurteshi, established today the logo of the Republic of Kosovo, near the border with Montenegro.

Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government, Dalibor Jevtić talked in Kosovo Polje/Fushë Kosovë with the Minister for Human and Minority Rights in the Government of Montenegro, Sead Numanović.

Jevtić said that issues related to the process of return of displaced persons from Montenegro to Kosovo were discussed, and in general solutions to the problems of internally displaced people and respect of their rights.

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, stated that Kosovo does not have an open issue with Montenegro, when demarcation is concerned. He also informed that he was in Podgorica for Montenegro’s tenth anniversary of independence and not for demarcation agreement.

Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaçi, will travel to Montenegro on Saturday to meet with Montenegrin President, Filip Vujanović and Prime Minister, Milo Đukanović. President Thaçi is expected to discuss the issue of border-demarcation with Montenegro leaders. “I will have a meeting with the Prime Minister and President of Montenegro to discuss the border-demarcation issue. I believe that this issue will be discussed in the Kosovo Assembly in the near future, and it should not be politicized but must be viewed as a matter of national interest,” Thaçi said.

The European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, met today in Pristina with Kosovo's Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa. Hahn stated in a press conference after the meeting, that it was in the best interests of Kosovo and Montenegro to conclude the border demarcation process. “It is in the interest of both countries to resolve this matter and move forward with the European perspective. Your ultimate goal should be to join the European Union,” he said. Prime Minister Mustafa said that Kosovo has no dispute with Montenegro.

Saturday's protests in the Republika Srpska, Kosovo, and FYROM ended mostly peaceful and all political actors were satisfied by it. However, bearing in mind that continuation of the protests were announced, we explored whether the Western Balkan is again the powder keg.

Hina Agency reports that Montenegrin police have arrested six people, two residents of Montenegro, Russia and Kosovo, on suspicion of illegal transportation of  hundreds of people from Kosovo to EU countries since 2013.

Tamara Popovic, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Montenegro, says that these six people were arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal acts of establishing a criminal organization, illegal border crossing and smuggling of people.
