The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) through a press statement declared that they will attend a meeting called by the Kosovo Assembly member, Ramiz Kelmendi, to discuss the border demarcation deal with Montenegro. “We see this meeting as yet another opportunity for the representatives of state institutions to admit they made some mistakes in the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro. The only way out of this is to revise and correct the agreement.

Most media report that the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has condemned Sunday’s attack on the house of RTK Director Mentor Shala. AAK parliamentary group chief, Pal Lekaj, said the attack is unacceptable. “It is not in Albanian tradition to attack the family regardless of the reasons. The family is sacred! The situation however becomes even more unbearable given that this is the fourth incident of its kind and law enforcement authorities don’t even have an investigation course.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) said the attack on RTK premises on Monday evening was a criminal act “and above all premeditated to create an unstable situation that will not serve anyone’s interests”. “This despicable act was an attack against the freedom of the media which is the foundation of every democracy. The recent attacks, including the one against RTK last night, highlight the urgency for mobilisation of law enforcement and judicial authorities to resolve these cases and to bring those responsible to justice.

The ruling coalition will have to secure by September 1 the necessary votes in parliament to ratify the border-demarcation deal with Montenegro. Opposition parties meanwhile have not changed their position on the matter. Political analysts in Pristina argue that the remaining period must be used to try and reach consensus.

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) Ramush Haradinaj, spoke about the visit of the U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden to Kosovo. He did not see a problem on the fact that Biden would not meet the opposition parties. “The visit of the U.S. Vice-President, Joe Biden is an honor for Kosovo, while the Institutions of Kosovo are the discussing party. This visit is also an honor for the opposition,” Haradinaj said.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) during a joint press conference today urged the Kosovo Assembly MPs not to vote the border-demarcation deal with Montenegro.  AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj said that sending the border-demarcation agreement to the Assembly for ratification was the wrong choice. “Today the leadership will decide when to send the demarcation agreement to the Assembly. This is the wrong choice and is being opposed by the opposition and citizens.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) through a press release today said it considers the Committee on Foreign Affairs made a mistake today by submitting the draft-law on border-demarcation with Montenegro to the Assembly, because, it has processed a "ticking time bomb" for the future of Kosovo. “It is up to all of us to reject this version of demarcation and to find a solution through political means. No one should put the citizens at risk, for personal power,” notes the press release.

Kosovo political leaders from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Vetëvendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) had a closed-door meeting today with ambassadors of the Quint countries. Political parties were represented by Xhavit Haliti (PDK), Isa Mustafa and Arban Abrashi (LDK), Jakup Krasniqi and Fatmir Limaj  (NISMA), Ramush Haradinaj (AAK), Visar Ymeri and Glauk Konjufca (Vetëvendosje) while the Quint countries were represented by ambassadors of US, France, Germany, Great Britain, and Italy.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) through a press release on Thursday noted that the current version of border-demarcation agreement with Montenegro was proven wrong by experts during the demarcation debate held yesterday.

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, told the news site that he will participate in the demarcation debate on Wednesday, but doesn’t expect any results from this debate. “The debate on border-demarcation to be held tomorrow is an opportunity to hear the final conclusions by experts. I will be part of the debate but I don’t expect any results from it,” Haradinaj said. He said the AAK will return in the Assembly to oppose the border-demarcation agreement with Montenegro.
