Serbia announces the launch of diplomatic campaign in the US Congress in the fall, Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti daily reports. According to the daily Belgrade had decided to embark on a campaign in order to present real state of affairs on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija to the US public and to the US officials, including the monstrous crimes committed against the Serbs on Kosovo and Metohija by the KLA.

Message of the US State Department official Philip Reeker that the US is ready to get involved in the process of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue diplomatic sources unofficially assessed as “America’s direct reaction” to the public initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron to return the two sides to the negotiation table as soon as possible, including Macron’s effort to organize a new meeting on Kosovo in Paris in September, Danas daily reports.

The commander of the US military base Bondsteel in Kosovo Roy Macaraeg says the situation in Kosovo is calm, and the tensions come from political spheres, reports B92.

Vyacheslav Volodin, the Speaker of the Russian Duma, lower house of the Federal Assembly, said in Belgrade on Monday that the “intrusion” of Kosovo’s special forces into the north aimed at frightening the Serbs, establishing control there by force, adding the Serbs could count on Russian help in future, N1 reported.

Volodin said that the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (on Kosovo after the 1989-1999 war there) should be respected.

Radio Gorazdevac: Your Excellency, welcome to our studio and thank you for this interview.

Ambassador Kosnett: Thank you Darko, it’s a great privilege to be here.  It’s always enjoyable to get outside the capital to explore new parts of the country and get to hear different points of view from people throughout the country.

Radio Gorazdevac: To start maybe it’s important for you to tell us what is the reason for your visit to this region of Peja?

Former US special envoy in the Contact Group (CG), Frank Wisner assessed that a decade after the CG tried to resolve the Kosovo issue, the situation on the ground has not changed, despite of Kosovo declaring independence in 2008, RTS reported.

He added, deadlines for reaching the final Belgrade-Pristina agreement should not be set, instead a lasting and compromise solution should be found through the dialogue.

Radio Kontakt Plus (RKP): Mr. Kosnett, in the first place, hello and welcome.

Ambassador Kosnett (AMB): Thank you Jelena. It is a great pleasure to be here in Mitrovica North.

RKP: Since we are talking about Mitrovica North, of course, political issues are always in the first place. When do you expect the Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina to continue?

If there would be a unified stance of the international stakeholders, Pristina would by now revoke 100 percent tariffs it imposed on goods from central Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Center for Foreign Policy Director, Dragan Djukanovic told RTS.

He also thinks there is a higher probability that due to the Kosovo issue extraordinary parliamentary elections in Serbia would take place in May next year, rather than in June this year.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will on Thursday receive representatives of the Bechtel-Enka Consortium. The meeting is expected to be attended by US and UK ambassadors to Serbia.

The head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi did not want to comment the views of "other parties", even the stance of the US on Kosovo, he just reiterated that Brussels was committed to reaching an agreement that will be legally binding, with full normalization of relations, reports Belgrade based daily Blic.

He said, when asked to comment on a recent statement by US State Undersecretary for Political Affairs David Hale "that the US position is a mutually sustainable recognition of Kosovo and Serbia ".
