Drecun: Serbia will continue to keep Kosovo issue open in UN (RTS)

Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS, Serbia would do its utmost, supported by friendly countries, to prevent decrease or cancellation of UN SC sessions on Kosovo and to keep them open to public.

Drecun said the more realistic reports on Kosovo are, the greater the pressure from countries such as France and UK is to marginalize the UN when it comes to the Kosovo issue.

Drecun: Management Team for ZSO Statute contrary to agreement (TV N1, Danas)

Chairperson of the Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told TV N1, Serbs in Kosovo did not give up on ZSO, but decided to wait since Pristina made a political manoeuvre.

Management Team for ZSO Statute Pristina is establishing is not in accordance with Brussels agreement, Drecun said, therefore the ZSO Statute would be in contradiction to that agreement as well.

A doctor in northern Kosovo says 32 people have been injured, including five seriously, during clashes with Kosovo police during the arrest of a senior Serbian government official.

Milan Ivanovic said Monday the injured have been treated in a local hospital in the divided town of Mitrovica and discharged.

Chairman of the Committee for KiM Milovan Drecun told RTS that senior US official Wess Mitchell has come to send a message that the Kosovo issue will be treated in the context of their geopolitical confrontation with Russia and that they will continue to have a one-sided approach to the Kosovo problem.

Milovan Drecun says that it is clear that there is no "American package for Kosovo" about which the media speculates.

The US "package" for Kosovo will put Serbia and President Aleksandar Vucic in "a very delicate position."

That's according to Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti, which adds that "the package" could be presented to Serbian officials on Wednesday, when US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell will visit Pristina, and then Belgrade.

Drecun on Ivanovic murder, UN SG report, Special Court (BETA, RTS)

Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told Serbian media he does not believe Pristina would resolve the murder of Oliver Ivanovic.

Drecun said he does not believe Pristina “would come out with real information” which, according to him would close the room for speculations.

He also commented on the statement of the Kosovo President Hashim Thaci that the murder is not ethnically motivated, saying Thaci could say something like that only after the investigation is concluded, Serbian media reported.

Drecun: Spanish stance on Kosovo favorable to Serbia (Tanjug, TV Pink)

Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told Tanjug news agency Spain insists on stance of non-recognizing Kosovo.

Commenting on a non-paper, Spain has sent to the European Commission, saying that Kosovo is not a part of the Western Balkans enlargement process, Drecun said Spain does not accept stance that Serbia is blackmailed.

“In fact Spain insists on stance of non-recognizing self-declared state of Kosovo and does not want to allow that it goes out of a status-neutral framework in any format.

There is no certain answer to the question if the Special Court would invite Hashim Thaci, neither in Pristina nor in Belgrade as first indictments, according to speculations, are expected in the next couple of months, Serbian national broadcaster RTS reports on its website.

An assumption is that the focus of prosecution would be on command responsibility.

Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun said the investigation of Oliver Ivanovic’s murder should go in two directions, toward Kardi Veseli and Washington, Serbian media widely covered.

Drecun said the current investigation shows it is about a well-planned and unfortunately efficiently carried out brutal murder of Oliver Ivanovic, and according to him professionals were involved.
