Patriarch Irinej: No extraordinary session about Kosovo (Kontakt plus radio, Danas)

Serbian Patriarch Irinej told the Belgrade based daily Danas that "there will be no extraordinary session of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), but most likely the regular May session will be waited'' in which Kosovo will be one of the main topics."

According to the patriarch's words, "only three requests arrived, while to convene the extraordinary session, is required majority of more than half,'' of the number of the highest Hierarchical and Ecclesiastical body of the SPC.

Youth participation in decision-making important for positive changes in society (Kontakt plus radio)

The youth organization “Sinergija” implements a new project “Youth as human rights advocates” with the support of the UN Mission in Kosovo, Kontakt plus radio reported.

The programme director, Jovana Stojanovic told the radio, the project would last 6 months and would include educative workshops where young people would deal with human rights, gender equality, prevention of violence and young people as role models.

According to Stojanovic, the third phase would include campaigns and study visits, including also theater performances.

Serb beaten in Mitrovica (KIM radio, Kontakt plus radio)

A 33-year-old Serb from Kosovo (B. S.) was beaten last night in the northern part of Mitrovica in a multi-ethnic settlement of the Bosniak Mahalla when several unidentified persons came upon him, Kontakt plus radio reports. B. S. is in the Mitrovica hospital.

Radio reports that he was intercepted by a group of unidentified persons who verbally and physically have attacked him.

Jevtic: We started to solve the problem of using the Serbian language in Kosovo (Kontakt plus radio)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtic said that the implementation of the Law was the key to solving the problem of equal language use in Kosovo. Jevtic stressed that for the first time there was a full commitment of the Government of Kosovo to solve the issue of equal use of languages in a quality way, reported Kontakt plus radio.
