Mustafa: LDK-Vetevendosje have not discussed major issues (EkonomiaOnline)

The outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), does not want to be part of a broad based government.

According to him, his party entered elections in order to govern Kosovo during a complete mandate.

Mustafa however admitted that they are holding intensive meetings with Vetevendosje movement.

Arban Abrashi, LDK’s nominee for Pristina mayor (KTV)

Koha.net’s sources within the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) informed that this party has nominated former Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Arban Abrashi, to compete for mayor of Pristina, in local elections to be held in October of this year. LDK also nominated Hatim Baxhaku for the mayor of Prizren. The portal reports that these two municipalities are among the most significant ones and in the focus of the political parties. PDK has not made public the name of its nominee for Pristina yet.

LDK proposes a round-table to address the Constitutional Court (RTK)

Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti, proposed today a round-table of the political parties to discuss the manner of addressing the Constitutional Court, with regards to the unblocking of the works of the Assembly. “It is well known that PAN is the blocker. I hail the statement of the ambassadors. This situation cannot go on, and we are considering constitutional steps and working on clarification of the judicial ground. We will call a round-table to discuss and address the Constitutional Court,” Hoti said.

Kujtim Shala, LAA’s candidate for deputy speaker (Telegrafi)

Avdullah Hoti, head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group and LAA coalition’s candidate for prime minister, said their candidate for the post of Kosovo Assembly deputy speaker is Kujtim Shala, former minister of culture. “LDK leadership, based on its competencies decided to propose MP Kujtim Shala for the post of deputy speaker,” Hoti said. He added that Shala is a twice-elected MP and has vast experience in the political life in Kosovo.

LDK against PAN’s proposal for package vote (Telegrafi)

Head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group, Avdullah Hoti, opposed PAN’s proposal to vote for Assembly speaker and prime minister under one package. Hoti said such a proposal “didn’t make sense” and that it is yet another attempt by PAN to buy time.  Hoxhaj said that PAN could withdraw candidacy of Kadri Veseli for the post of Assembly speaker if the new candidate is voted alongside Ramush Haradinaj as prime minister of Kosovo.

 

Osmani: We do not vote Veseli and Haradinaj (RTK)

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Vjosa Osmani expressed her conviction that MPs from the LAA coalition will not vote Kadri Veseli for Assembly Presidemt or Ramush Haradinaj for Prime Minister of Kosovo.

She also added that statements from the PAN coalition that they have the sufficient votes to create the government, are not true.

Selmanaj: LDK will have no communication with PDK (Klan Kosova)

Elected MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Driton Selmanaj, said after his registration at the Kosovo Assembly that Kosovo needs a stable government, which in no version depends from prime ministers or presidents of countries in the region. He also said that LDK would in no way be in a government where PDK is.

According to him, the decision of the LDK’s General Council is to have no communication with PDK.

Selimi: We are discussing program, not PM’s position with LDK (Lajmi)

Vetevendosje movement MP, Rexhep Selimi, said after his registration at Assembly administration that creation of the new institutions and process of registering MPs could have taken place much earlier. According to him, this was intentionally delayed by those who claim to have the numbers to create the government.

Selimi said that they are discussing program matters with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), however he added that they have not discussed the position of the Prime Minister yet.

PDK: LDK speculating, we have not offered prime minister’s post (Indeksonline)

Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) rebutted reports that PAN coalition offered to the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) the post of prime minister in exchange for it joining the new government. PDK deputy leader, Memli Krasniqi, said no such offer was made and the new government of Kosovo will be led by PAN’s candidate, Ramush Haradinaj.  “This is an LDK speculation and there is no truth to it. It may be wishful thinking as the post of prime minister will be held by our candidate, Mr. Haradinaj”, Krasniqi said.
