Assembly Chairmanship suspends opposition deputies for the day (media)

Security has blocked the deputies from the Kosovo Assembly opposition parties and it does not allow them to climb to the alternative hall of the Assembly.

Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, informed after the meeting of Assembly Chairmanship that the meeting would resume in thirty minutes, however, leaders and deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), were not allowed to enter the Assembly hall.

Opposition parties assess that the Government has started to change its position towards the requests of the opposition parties on the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and demarcation of the border with Montenegro. Ramush Haradinaj-led Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has dismissed reports that it is about to finalise agreement with ruling parties – the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). In a statement to the media, AAK said such reports are speculations but added that it is open to meet with anyone who can help in withdrawing agreement on establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and the border demarcation with Montengro.

Senior official from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) Muharrem Nitaj said that the party is ready to meet with government representatives as soon as they withdraw the agreement on establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and on the border demarcation with Montenegro. “We are open to meet with people and representatives of the government and all the people who have the will to unblock this situation as a result of these two agreements,” said Nitaj. Protest march demanding release of AAK MP Kadaj-Bujupi (Koha)

The women presidencies of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Vetevendosje Movement and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), will hold a protest march in Pristina today at 14:00 hrs demanding the release of AAK MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi who was arrested on Wednesday in relation to the recent events in the Kosovo Assembly. The organizers said the march would be peaceful and with the motto: “A state that arrests the MPs of the people is a dictatorial state”.

Opposition to the government: Stop before it’s too late (media)

The leaders of the three opposition parties, the Vetevendosje Movement, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), told reporters in Pristina today that there will be no protest until November 28. Referring to the actions of the government and police on Wednesday, AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj said: “they carried out political actions and arrested people in their homes in the most brutal way possible. We will continue with our opposition. They should stop before it’s too late”.

All media report that police have arrested Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, MP from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), in relation to the events in the Kosovo Assembly on Tuesday. The AAK issued a press release calling on law enforcement authorities “not to turn into tools of the government and not to carry out political orders coming from the corrupt and criminals, Mustafa, Thaci and Veseli”.
