The negotiating position of the European Union on Chapter 35, which relates to the Kosovo issue resolution, in essence, has not brought anything new, Danas learns from diplomatic sources close to Brussels. According to interlocutors of Danas, "it is quite likely that the more precise and detailed conditions" will be communicated to Serbia in the next phases of its European path.

In an interview to KoSSev, the head of the political section of the Office of the European Union in Kosovo Thomas Gnocci reflected on recent problems at crossings between Kosovo and Serbia with relation to administrative instruction issued by Kosovo authorities to Kosovo Police denying entry to Kosovo residents using identification documents issued by Serbian administration, and said that issue of the use of identification documents will be discussed in the frame of the ongoing dialogue in Brussels.

Kosovo Minister without portfolio Edita Tahiri reflected on withdrawal of the administrative instruction issued to Kosovo Police on denying entry to holders of Serbian identification documents residing in Kosovo and explained that provisional period for use of such documents will be offered to all residents who are still using such ID cards.

Serbia has opened the two initial chapters for European Union membership, entering this way an important phase of the process of European Union integration. Identification documents issued by Serbian police departments displaced from Kosovo, are not valid in Kosovo, said Kosovo minister without portfolio Edita Tahiri to web portal Kossev. She explained that in line with the agreement on freedom of movement from 2011, those documents are illegal and not valid.

The chapter 35, in negotiations with the EU, will be the most difficult for Serbia, some analysts estimate, because it is a political condition which requires a comprehensive normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, and even the recognition of Kosovo's independence.

Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija once more called on authorities in Pristina to take all necessary steps in order to prevent frequent and impertinent attacks on Serbian returnees and their property.
